Thanks for the replies everyone! I do like the idea of supporting local brick and mortar. I actually found a pretty good deal last night after I made this post that I think I am going to go with on an Alpicool.
What is the best fridge optio? All the prices seem so obscene to the point where I am thinking of buying a 120v fridge and buying another 100Ah battery and solar panel with the savings to power it. It seems like in Canada you get even more hosed on mark ups. One of the cheapest options I found...
I got the pulleys and the winch mounted for the bed. Hopefully it will work out as I’ve planned it!
This bed will stow all the way up against the ceiling above the dinette
Thanks for asking! I over did it and some stitches popped out when they weren't supposed to  so I've taken more days off. I've been mostly in the planning and sourcing materials for the drop down bed that I need to get the guts in so that I can finish the ceiling insulation.
I don't have a picture of it, but I also installed them so when the gas strut is completely parallel to the roof, the panel isn't all the way down. That way when the panel is all the way down the gas strut holds in down. I think I'm still going to put a latch some where cause in the perfect...
Yeah I will get the paint matched properly in the spring. A tiny unforecasted rain shower completely ruined the finish anyhow so it will have to be sanded and repainted...sigh. Such is life. I
Well the snow is supposed to start tomorrow so I did a last ditch effort to get some paint done on the body work that finally Was finished. The paint is a little off white which I don’t love but it will get me through to spring when I can match it better
I tried the 2” ones I bought and they haven’t been snapping like the 3” ones were.
My hand is healing up better than I had hoped so I was able to get a bit more insulation on the walls and some 5.5mm board up. I wish I went with 3/8” as this stuff is so flexible I can’t sink the countersunk...
Will I got a couple hours on the ambulance before I did something dumb with a knife and sliced my hand pretty good. It’s not too bad and only need a couple stitches but half my hand is numb and I can only use about 5% strength before it gets u comfortable so I may be out of commission for a week...
Well I keep putting more holes in Rambo. I installed a 6” vent for the future dry room and I cut a hole in my roof and installed a MaxxAir.
I turned on my heater today and realized I installed it backwards so that took me over an hour to rectify.
Does anyone have any good recommendations for weather seal on the door that is one sided? And by that I mean that it doesn’t grip around the edge of the door sil? There are a few places where I want the wall to cover the outside cabinet doors and I need to get rid of the door seal that’s showing...
I did some wiring today, got the heater plumbing hooked up from under the vehicle, and fixed up all the insulation deficiencies. After that I got a couple sheets of one inch on the walls and covered it with some 5.5mm. I think it will go pretty well but the sheets of plywood are awkward to cut...
Good eye! My wife is in Vancouver for work 2 weeks of the month so I figured I could find some your way. But when I put up the want-ad on a Facebook group I found them in Saskatoon and my buddy happened to be driving through there and grabbed them for me. I really don't know too much about them...
Not too much to report as this week has been pretty busy. Solar panels and gas struts are installed. Just need to run the wires to the solar charger.
I moved the Espar heater to the opposite side and in the middle of the living space. I put the counter in and I think I might go a different...
The only pics I have are what I posted. I paid higher prices as I order from a low volume metal supply store who made all my cuts for me. I have $150 CDN into the 6" channel that gave the roof its height, $160 CDN for the 7" X 96" .063" aluminum. $10 in pop rivets and $40 on urethane adhesive...
I don't think removing the cabinets was required for the way my ambulance was built, but extra room to work is really is really nice. If you had to cut your studs and weld in new ones, most of the work could be done from outside the ambulance too. I haven't seen anyone else have a single piece...
I haven't totally decided. It might not bet the smartest idea but I think I might mark on the plywood where the studs are and then screw a long machine screw through the plywood, rigid insulation and into the stud.
