I think ranchers should NOT be able to graze on public land period.
There is no federal program that actually compensates ranchers for wolf kills.
The organization "Defenders of Wildlife" does, but on the basis that the wolf remains on the endangered species list.
The pay out from defenders...
If they want the wolf to roam free its pretty simple - pay the ranchers triple for any livestock lost. Don't use taxes, raise the money from pro-wolf people.
Once the ranchers get paid better for feeding wolves than they do people, you may see a drastic change in opinion.
As far as elk and...
I would never buy a slush box. But don't let us manual shifting fanatics talk you out of an Auto.
The Auto in the new Tacoma is awesome compared to most automatics and the manual is only average.
It isn't like most automatics that rob power, clunk, search, and argue. Its crisp, tight and...
I know that you used them because I watched a movie trailer and read about it in the overland journal.
I would buy a set today if I could figure out how you got the chain to clear with those tires!!
My 2006 Tacoma has Tire sensors. It has caused two issues so far.
The first issue is that the warning light remains on when I put a different set of wheels on the truck. Sort of annoying, and I'm not going to pay for additional sensors.
The second issue is that the warning system goes off...
Fleet owners are moving towards Fuso and isuzu in the medium duty truck sector and away from domestic trucks.
This is based on payload ability and cost of ownership.
There are many reasons to own a pickup, stronger and cheaper isn't one of them.
Based on 20,000 miles a year and a 2mpg difference, you would recoup your money in 3-4 years.
I have 4:30's on 255's and I'm saving for 5.29's. You would love the 4:88's I bet.
Thanks, I'm glad to be discussing this here instead of on another forum. I should have added that the Manual is by no means better than an Auto. The Auto excels at maximizing acceleration through constant power and torque multiplication. It is also better at hill climbing and carrying momentum...
Transmissions in WRC cars are nothing like the automatics in a Tacoma. They are directly linked by gears not fluid, more similar to a manual. Before sequential shifting transmissions, rally cars used H-gate manuals over automatics.
The advantage is that you can match your rpm's and gear ratio...
I can understand why people like auto's on trucks, but its not for me. I like to clip along pretty fast and the manual is better for that. I also drive on icy roads and the manual gives better control.
If you are sane and laid back get the auto.
If you are given to fly in anything, get the manual.
I'm going to suggest that you pass on the kel-tec and opt for a high quality bolt action .22, used sks and single shot 12 gauge.
You could have all three for the price of the kel tec.
The .22 will teach precision shooting (kel-tec won't)
The SKS is a great defensive weapon. (for less than the...
You will notice the advantages of a 33" tire and mild suspension lift every time you off road. You'll barely notice the disadvantage at the pump and on the highway.
I like having the confidence that my vehicle will out perform the masses in times of need, natural disaster, severe storms etc...
I've looked at those and I like the concept. I don't have the headroom in my reg cab but it would be nice in the double cab behind my head.
I like that the rifles would be out of the way and more secure inside the vehicle.
I do like the case I have because it is very easy to store 2 precision...
I Like the new Tacomas Block heater design. Very easy to install and you don't lose a drop of coolant. Plus its fail safe, even if it fell out nothing would happen.
Thats true, they help a lot year round. The only problem with going full depth on the sipes is that you wouldn't be able to cut a fresh edge on the tire every year without it chunking like crazy.
I didn't look back after buying Donahoes up front. My only regret is putting Billi 5125's on the back. Its a great shock for moderate use but it doesn't keep up with the hoes in front if you're pushing it for long periods over choppy terrain.
The billies will fade and become too hot to touch...
I spent a lot of time picking out my 255's I really wish I had found this forum earlier!
I went with the BFG M/T's for my 01 tacoma and I am satisfied with the overall performance. They do lack shallow snow and hard ice traction in stock form but with generous siping its very tolerable...
