You must remove the entire vehicle from the NAFTA zone. you will not be able to keep any of it in the USA. Get it to Europe, save the box part out the truck.
There are abandoned trucks all over the world that have outstayed their entry limits and the penalties are higher than the truck value...
There will be a ton of paperwork to go through plus getting screwed by the shipping companies, but if the box is good there is a good cheap truck here. whoever buys it will need cash and have to move fast.
What is the budget? This type of wood frame build is usually an attempt at a high end expo truck for peanuts. You will end up with a pile of firewood on the back of your truck. There are many composite panel suppliers that can help you with design and structural connections for your gunsafe and...
Our Truck had a blackwater tank when we purchased it. pumping out was disgusting. I asked the previous owner (who had lived in the truck 18 years all over the world) what he did when he could not find a pump out. His response:
" you will only find pump outs in North America and Europe (had not...
Disconnect the battery from the vehicle. Charge it with your NOCO. when it is charged leave it about 4 hours, it should be 12.7 V. Check it 24 hrs later it should still be 24 V.
I was not going to go there but.. you could not pay me to slop out a black water tank with a cassette. We have lived with our composting toilet 5 years all over north and south America, it is the only way to go, literally.
From the Mercedes Engine Build Manual 0M366:
"engine oil consumption may be up to 0.5% of the effective fuel consumption for a newly run in engine under normal operating conditions. This level may rise in individual cases up to 1% of effective fuel consumption depending on the distance travelled...
Pulling 12 volt loads directly off half a 24 volt bank is not a good idea. It will cause early battery death. As John says use buck converters if you have a 24 volt system and need 12 volt circuits.
We have a 24 volt truck and run a 12 volt camper. A 24 volt camper is theoretically better, less wire and more efficient, in reality 12 volt parts are far more common and easier to source.
We use a Stirling 24 to 12 volt charger. Best place to buy in USA is Defender Marine.
The old expansion tank was cracked and leaking. The line from the T is for the Webasto. Without crawling around I could not tell you where the connection is at the other end!
In Canada it is 15 years, the USA 25 years. You cannot import a newer truck.
There is 6.1% non NAFTA duty plus provincial/state and federal tax.
$6000 to $10000 shipping plus all expenses related to viewing and inspecting vehicles (if that is even possible at the moment).
Using your main engine at idle to charge your batteries is super inefficient and not good for the engine. Using a DC to DC charger in this situation makes it even worse. The typical DC to DC charger only puts out 20 to 40 amps . An alternator puts out 60 to 200. In a short idle charge you will...
