2nd Gen Tundra On The Move

I went with an ARE V series with vented windoors on both sides, cab height. The windoors make accessing anyhting in the bed way easier, and now that they offer the vented version you can get ventilation as well without having the whole window open. I had a similar shell on my last truck and only...

2nd Gen Tundra On The Move

Nice truck, and nice pictures! I've also got a 2nd gen tundra, same truck as yours but grey :) I'll be interested to see what you do with it, I've so far just added a camper shell and am planning to build a sleeping platform.

Found some more info about what models these parts will fit here http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=214001 These should work for the IFS front ends on the following trucks: 88-98 4Runner 93-98 T100 95-98 Tacoma 89-94 Pickup 91-97 Land Cruiser Hopefully this widens the pool...

Alternative to big $$$ drawer sliders?

I've played with a design for a cheap way to make whatever length drawer slide that you need. Got the idea from the commercial bedslide units. They use 2 bearings per slide, one fixed at the end of the bed (back of the truck), and one mounted to the opposite end of the drawer. I would use...

Anybody run load range C tires?

I was happy with load range C (BFG AT, 33x10.5R15) on my T100 (4300 lb actual weight) Sidewalls flexed nicely when aired down. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-KQY2kf7WWsE/TI2GLNBHTeI/AAAAAAAACeg/CbGwbDoMDBc/s1024/IMG_3156.JPG

full size pickups show improved mpg

Tundras have silly high 5th and 6th gear ratios (0.73 and 0.59), with 4th being 1:1, so the comparison between rear axle ratio isn't the whole story.

full size pickups show improved mpg

I agree the tundra is behind the new trucks, but when it came out it blew away the competition, power wise, while making the same mpg. The older 5.3's made 290 ish hp, not the current 355. They just really need to catch up mpg wise, I was very disappointed that the 2014 model update didn't...

Toyota Valve and timing belt tools, axle rebuild kits

The following are all left over from the '96 T100 I sold recently, time to clean up the 'spares' shelf in the garage. Quick disconnect sway bar couplers - missing 1 set of bushings (I just reused stock). $50 shipped...

    Camper shell brand comparison

Another note since I see you're interested in racks: I was quoted $330 to have pre installed rack bases, which I found pretty steep. I will likely install them myself at some point, they can be bought much cheaper individually and do not seem challenging to DIY. I haven't heard anything...

    Camper shell brand comparison

I just picked up an ARE V series with vented win doors, tilt down front window, and carpeted interior for my Tundra. I compared the big 3 (ARE, Leer, Snugtop) and found that seeing them in person at the local dealer was worthwhile. My notes on each: Leer: Lots of choices but the windoors aren't...

    Looking for tall skinny tires

Bit smaller than you're looking for but there is a solid selection of tires in the 275/70R18 size, works out to about a 33 x 11
