    What's wth those Disco's anyways?

Come on man. Watch the video. It is heated evenly and at a low enough temp he can put his bare hands on it. The noise is the liner slipping. On mine it actually "cookie cuttered " the head gasket in number 3 cylinder. That was the knocking. And the coolant leak wasn't on that cylinder. I...

    What's wth those Disco's anyways?

I agree some what, but I just had to get rid of an '04 D2 that had been meticulously maintained with 71k on it. No electrical issues or CEL. That didn't stop the cylinder liners from starting to slip (yes it was definitely verifed). Check out the Youtube video where the guy warms his block on...

My New (AEV) American Expedition Vehicles Jeep!!

Hey Dendy, Got rid of the Disco and moved over to the other dark side. Ended up with a 2012 FJ Cruiser. We drove and liked both, but decided it better fit our needs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Land Rover Disco II stuff

"And lo, Mr. and Mrs. Brushogger succumbed to temptation and ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Rover. After doing all that was required to rightfully maintain the altar heretofore known as D2, The Rover Gods decided they must be punished. Brushogger was told in a vision "Due to...

    Need FJ Cruiser advice

I've been doing a lot of research on this and have decided to go with the Aluminess bumper and Warn 9.5xp winch. Its still very strong and is 100lb lighter than the ARB and 60 lb lighter than the Demello. I'm going to try and keep the weight down as much as possible on this build. Sent from...

    Need FJ Cruiser advice

I wish we could make it to the summit, but we already have a trip from Mexico to Canada on the continental divide trail scheduled the last week of July and first week of August. Well try and make it in 2013. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Need FJ Cruiser advice

I love this thing! I had been leery about them because of the blind spot issue everyone talks about, but since I'm used to driving a panel van every day it's no problem at all. Now I just need to get the rover stuff listed for sale and start measuring to organize our trail and camping gear...

    Need FJ Cruiser advice

Okay....... That deal didn't pan out, but this one did! The Disco is officially gone and this is officially ours. New 2012 with the off road package. The Disco was a very fun truck, but It's going to be so nice to travel without wondering if we're driving a time bomb and keeping the eyes...

    Need FJ Cruiser advice

we had narrowed our choices to a Rubicon unlimited and the FJ. We went and test drove both tonight. We both liked the FJ much better. it was much more comfortable and quiet on the highway. I drive a 3/4 ton van everyday, so the visibility while not as good as the Disco wasn't a problem...

    Need FJ Cruiser advice

Hey Guys, I'm looking hard at these as I'm tired of running scared from the Disco Temp gauge. FJ owners- Give me your impressions. Happy, unhappy, glad you bought it or not? Recommended options? I've been looking online and have found nothing really bad about them. I'm going shopping this...

My New (AEV) American Expedition Vehicles Jeep!!

Are you the person that posted on the Wrangler Forum about ordering from Bob Moore? If so, you and Dendy are the inspiration for this idea. When you get back to OKC, PM us. There's not a whole lot of places to go locally, but some great spots within 2-3 hours. I have already talked to one...

My New (AEV) American Expedition Vehicles Jeep!!

The other problem is the resale value on these things drops so fast it if you have a loan, its very easy to end up way upside down on these. The resale on Jeeps and Toyotas is incredible. I still see lots of '08 JKU rubis selling for close to what they were new! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My New (AEV) American Expedition Vehicles Jeep!!

Hey Dendy!, I may be moving over to the dark side also. My '04 Disco just ate a head gasket, ( I'm hoping that's all it is) and I'm tired of constantly having to watch the temp gauge. We love the rover, but The 2012 Rubicon Unlimited with 21 mpg (I know, I know...) on regular gas will save...
