Near me in Massachusetts the only places I could find that would install a fiberglass hard top were converters for wheelchair and commercial transportation vans. They told me they would only install tops with steel roll cages because it was required by law. I don’t know DOT rules but that was...
In New England it's not unusual to see 4x4 trucks (as well as cars & SUVs with AWD) cruising 70+ in snowy conditions. However, it's also common seeing said vehicles in ditches along the side of the highway or slammed into another's rear-end because it's very hard to stop when you're going that...
Nicely done. I have Sienna's in mine and they are the best seats in the van. What are those brackets attached to the L-track behind the Siennas? Thanks
Is this what you have in mind?

Was this van a 4" or 6" kit? How does it compare to your comparable leaf kit? Sorry to reopen the debate of leaf v. coil, but now that you've done this upgrade to the coil I wonder if it changes the analysis. Thanks
I'm also considering the Vanair. I have an E-series EB passenger van with headliner I kept to retain the AC ducts in the ceiling. I would prefer a Fantastic/Maxx Fan, but can't seem to find a spot to accommodate one without cutting into the AC ducts. Would love any suggestions/examples (aside...
Really nice job on that interior. Am I correct in understanding that the bed platform is adjustable? Can you share some more details on the hardware or point me to your build thread if already documented? Thanks
Have you checked out Opt Overland? I think they would be local to you too? I understand their tops are relatively new to the market so maybe they've improved on the design. If you check it out, please report back. Thanks
For the past few months I was mulling over the driver side install and had put it off. I thought I would need a 2 piece shifter. I figured I should just tackle it and see how it goes. It takes a little maneuvering, sliding the seat back and forth a little as you turn. The door is actually what...
I finally got around to installing my driver and passenger swivels. The installation was pretty easy. I didn't need to extend the wire and I didn't have to disassemble the connector to pass it through the hole in the passenger base. I may go back to address this later, but there's still...
Not mine, but I thought you would like to see how they do it in Iceland. My son has been there on vacation this past week and in just a few short days spotted these cool rigs. My van looks puny compared to these.
I have a Ujoint converted E350 EB 5.4 with 4.56 on 35's. I also have a stock 2WD 7.3 to compare. While the 5.4 doesn't have the same oomph as the 7.3, it's adequate even loaded with 5 people and a moderate amount of gear.
Quigley cargo near me if anyone is interested. Nice in pics. Can't tell if it's legit. As with all vans from New England, need to be aware of rust.

Thanks. I see the L track has a ridiculous number of holes so you must have done a ton of drilling. Did you use riv nuts in certain spots or did you have to drop stuff under the van to secure the nuts from underneath? Thanks
This is great info. What did you use to bolt the L track to the floor? I recall US Cargo sells a hardware pack for the L Track. But did you use something beefier or longer screws, or bigger washers? Thx
