Eh, I take that with a grain of salt. I think it's safe to say that modified JK has a longer engine/trans than normal, which is what they're testing. That has nothing to do with how it will be put into a JL. The photos just show a modified JK to fit the different engine/trans, they don't say...

It was sold stateside for 2 years, so every merc dealer can get everything, no problem at all. It was also sold more-or-less everywhere globally that merc are, so getting parts worldwide shouldn't be a problem. It was in the G-Wagon for a couple of years. -Dan

Ahh, right, the 642. Bosch do have a standalone that will drive that... for about $6k. Every now and then there is talk on http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/ of someone that's going to build/buy/whatever a standalone for it.. and then it kind of goes nowhere. Hopefully sooner or later...
