Not sure about that. Whining is never a good thing. :Wow1:
Finished the overhead cabinets and the last few wooden bits and pieces:
Mounted the indirect lighting:
Doll-house modus:
And put in the floor:
No idea how it sounded. I bought it with the broken diff and had it towed to my shop cause i didn`t want to take any risk of causing even more damage.
Now it`s nice and quiet. There are some harmonics in the drivetrain starting at about 115km/h but i guess that`s normal for a 4x4.
There was a bad bearing race that spun on a shaft. So i had the bearing and shaft replaced.
Those are not just differentials, it`s way more complicated. I was about doing it myself but when i had the differential removed and had a look how complicated this thing is i decided not to touch it. I...
So i pulled it out of winter storage today and it fired right up. This is how i like it. :grinpimp:
End of last year it started making funny noises out of the gearbox. Today it went with a bang and didn`t move at all. Well, didn`t have to look for long to see what`s wrong:
Removed the...
Absolutely. I love it.
Made some wooden door covers today::
Need to find some better fasteners than the oem grey clips. Just looks like ****.
Then i made a dump pipe for the grey water tank. It`s almost full now and there wasn`t a way to empty it. So i cut a hole throught the floor...
Yes, voltage only. I think that`s enought.
Didn`t post much lately, mostly because i`m enjoying the Sprinter all the time:
But i also got something done:
Cut the cabinet doors so they will open with the bed extended:
And mocked up the upper cabinets:
Yes, it was just awesome. In my Vanagon it always took me one or two nights until i slept well, in the Sprinter i slept really well the first night ever. :costumed-smiley-007
Put in a new stereo:
Wired in the indicator lights:
And made some dividers for the cabinets:
So we put in a night shift to finish some of the electrics and the counter top:
Of course the last screw my dad put in went directly in the already filled water tank. Well, we got it sorted out.
Then it was time to start it`s maiden voyage:
I`m absolutely...
Put in a new windshield. No more rear view mirror but a sunshade on top:
Also decided to do some climbing over the long weekend now so i need to get some stuff done. Will be a long night so i can start friday morning.
I think I could have fixed it but I didn't feel like messing around with it. I need to get this thing operational, not fix stuff. Also I want the reliability of a new one.
Put the fittings in the tank today:
Then we put in the new fridge. First task was to put on anti-stupidity zipties:
Then we cut the frame:
Bent the lines:
And in. The upper one is the fridge, the lower one the worlds most expensive drawer:
And put the tanks back in:
I`m going to weld some carabiners to the brackets ,so it`ll look like a climbing route and serve as a wardrobe:
It`s pretty stout too, so i can hang stuff like backpacks on it also.
It`s the factory 4WD option. 2WD standart, push-button 4WD and also a rear locker.
Tried my new chains today:
They`re a little bit too loose for my liking so i think i`ll shorten the inner ring. Not sure how to do that yet, but i got time until next season..
Then i mounted the freshly painted spare tirre carrier with the brand new spare:
Made some more cabinet doors...
