Got mine from the Westy guy listed here earlier. Man...what a nice fridge. It is currently testing DC power via my power pack. So far working like a champ.
Quick Q - anyone trying the ECO mode vs MAX mode? Will it really conserve power in ECO? The manual mentions to run it in this mode...
Hey Rover...
I hope to be wheeling the X soon. So far the I see only 2-3 real 'issues'. (...if you could really call them that.)
1 - The rear axle diff breather is a joke. Doing the tail light extension is a must.
2 - The location of alternator is something that I think needs to be...
More work and research. The following are cars that have sealed alternators:
- Cadillac XTR
- Range Rover/BMW (requires custom fab'd housing)
- VW Touareg / Porsche Cayenne (possibly open on face)
- Hitachi custom unit - distributors unknown
SOLUTION - possible opportunity to fabricate a...
Interestingly enough - I found a sealed 150amp alternator that is for the 4.4L BMW and Range Rover engines. Price = $240. Might be worth looking into.

EDIT - scratch that. A...
Howdy folks...
I think it's pretty obvious of the alternator's location flaw. It's too low and I have been reading about failures due to mud contamination, etc. Lately - I have been doing some serious thinking about how to improve this situation. and...I think I have it. Here's the challenge...
Radiator bypass - Well...based upon my research, the 2011+ has a new revised radiator. And...given the fact that I am under full warranty, I won't be doing it. From what I have read, no failures have been noted on the newer radiators. Unless someone can point me to an instance, I have not...
I love the look of the X. Very rugged and cool. ...and with some bumpers - absolutely evil. :sombrero:
The Jeep was fun...but that's really the only thing going for it. If I were a single guy, I would have likely kept it. This Nissan just fits the fam much better.
Side note - sold the step...
Thanks for the welcome. I am on thenewX.org - Look for "Biggs".
I will be towing my 19' boat to the lake, so I am anticipating that my rear leafs will wear out as well. When they do - let the fun begin.
I do have an AT. Saw that about the by pass mod and I am sure I will be looking into...
Well I hate to say it. But if Chrysler can't figure out what type of bolts go where / wrong size, I'd be concerned. Do a search. All the bolts on the suspension of the Wrangler, from the control arms to the track bar are the wrong size and improper bolt.....(wait for it).....from the factory...
Yep...pulled the trigger on a 2012 Xterra Pro4x. So far, I am digging it. Love the comfort, usable space, driving manners, etc.
Quick version - bought a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon in Feb 2012. After dealing with issue after issue and having a head replaced at 6500mi - no thanks...
Thanks Dendy. It is the cargo / pet divider for the 4-door. They worked great - really wish they would work in my new Xterra. Here's a photo of them:
And installed (per safari straps site)
