    Mid Atlantic Rally ( MAR) - Who's going ?

There were a couple of series 1's was it yellow ? I worked a Rally Control for a couple of hours Saturday afternoon and the count was just over 200 trucks. With such a large venue and everyone so spread out it didn't seem like nearly so many.

You're good. Nothing different between a disco and later defender lt230's except the flanges on some discos-like Timmy's. I need to work out transport to my container with Dave and make sure he's not going to hit you guys with VAT. If that all goes well, I'll just have you guys pay him directy.

Sam, Without a TSA issued TWIC card wouldn't be able to get you into any of the nations ports. In the good old days I used to take friends and they loved it. The first time you go into one of these high volume ports you stand in awe of the sheer volume of stuff coming and going onto these ships...

    3.9 v 4.2

Had a couple 4.2's. Ran a lot stronger than the 3.9's for the small displacement difference. Hadn't heard of any issues with the bottom ends either.

Nah. Engine is a LR factory reman unit (they tell me these are new not rebuilt). The truck had egr and a cat which fell off somehwere. The injection pump has been tweaked and continues to be a refinement process-waste gate actuator shortened. Guessing I'm getting about 120bhp but thats it. Its...

JL is going to drive down to my place in Va in the next 2 or 3 weeks for a 110 roof , windsheild frame, and defender steering column for the next generation of that 109. Still only seen it in pictures. So like me those running that ratio all have non Rover engines etc. The defenders manufactured...

Thanks for your insight but I swapped in a new Ashcroft one after the original unit with 240k let go. Quite happy with the replacement r380.

My changes have had to do with towing and blown up components (ie new Ashcroft R380 on one of those excercises). I retrieve imports from the docks with a substantial all steel car trailer 2200 lbs. Most of what goes on the trailer are Tdi 110's and I deliver them all over the place. My entire...

As I said I had a 1.1 tcase in a 110 with a 4 liter toyota diesel with stock diffs. Ie enough torque to pull away in 1st and not stall but the effect on the axle shafts was intense- the splines literaly had acute 30 degree bends/twists after 8 mos in the truck. I was running 285's so a 33.25...

    Big guy clothing?

I'm 6.6 and 290. I've had good luck @ Outdoor World/ Bass Pro. I take a 42-44 waist depending on how the pant is cut and have picked up some decent canvas shorts @ Sams Club of all places.

early Range Rovers with lt95's but the same 3.54 differentals had a similar ratio. Those were 4 speeds so thats where the tall ratio worked-road speed in top gear. Had one in a 110 with a Toyota 4 liter diesel.

    1986 defender 90, with a 300 engine from a 2003.

Not sure US Customs will let you drive it "through" since the truck isn't eligible for import here. Suggest you check before buying tickets.

You keep saying that. You don't need to post four times about how this doesn't work for you-just once if it was something of interest. I think it depends on the individual and the degree of slippery slope. Re gearing open diffs makes little sense. Most will opt for arb or other when redoing the...
