My Kitchen Box concept - Comments please.

Greetings all. After seeing some of the great ideas in this forum, I was inspired to design my own Kitchen box. I have been working on plans for my own Ktichen/Chuck box now for a little while. I have 3D CAD software and have a design that I think will work. I would like some feedback from...

Back country adventures with kids...how do you do it?

This is such a great thread. Thanks to all who have posted. I grew up in the Northeast. Vermont to be exact. I grew up camping and experiencing nature from an early age. My family and I now live in the Southeast and we have two children. My girl is 4 and my boy is presently 5 months. When...

    Anyone doing LR3 Rear Bumper?

Couldn't agree more about the "design" aspects of the Aluminess and RTE. Actually, Aluminess, is more like Alumi-MESS. RTE - sorry, not feelin it. Try again. When it comes to Kaymar - awesome stuff, but $3000 for a rear bumper? Seriously? That must be some great crackpipe.

    Anyone doing LR3 Rear Bumper?

Getting ready to have one fabricated (similar to the Rasta version) to work with my OE rear bumper. I'll post pics when it's complete. :coffeedrink: Biggs

    New, non-$$$ Scepter MFC source

Just ordered 3 from LC Industries for $18.99 each. After hunting for an eternity, I think these will do the trick.

    Lucky8 needs some help

That rear bumper for the LR3 is outstanding. I really like that rear tire swing-arm mount along with the Jerry can arm option. Very nice.

    Lucky8 needs some help

Kaymar Land Rover bumpers!!! Nobody in the US carries them for Rovers specifically. Please, please... Can't wait to see your new site. Biggs

    So...I pulled the trigger.

Nope. While it is a nice option...I do not really need it. My rig will be more for family camping activities and less hardcore off road.

    So...I pulled the trigger.

Thanks all. I appreciate it. I am really looking forward to getting the family out with it. Flounder...that story about the tail light guards is hilarious. :D

    So...I pulled the trigger.

Let the modding begin. :wings: After months of determining which direction I wanted to go I got a Certified 2007 Land Rover LR3 SE7. Java Black with a Alpaca tan interior. So far, man...I really dig this truck. :smiley_drive: First mods I am considering - Kaymar rear swing bumper, rear tail...

Thought about getting Tacoma, then a Wrangler, now not so sure..

Owned a FJ a couple years ago. Loved it - but the suicide doors were a major PITA with a munchkin in tow. With another on the way, I need those 4 doors.:D My old FJ. Custom top and all...

Thought about getting Tacoma, then a Wrangler, now not so sure..

FWIW - I have been looking into a Taco 4Dr or a Jeep Unlimited as well. Being that I am 6'6" and my wife is 6'1", it's pretty obviously our kids are going to grow... I just test drove the a new Taco. I have always wanted one. The fitment was terrible. My driving position was rather cramped...

Manual or Auto...THAT is the question.

Wow. I knew this was a deep subject. But I did not expect 3 pages. Thank you all for the fantastic insight. As I have mentioned, I am leaning towards the Rubi. The Taco is no doubt a fantastic truck. As one of said "...the Rubi is calling me." good stuff. -Biggs

Manual or Auto...THAT is the question.

The forever debate (yep...I searched.) I pose the question to the off-road, expo guru's out there. Manual transmission or Automatic? My intention - I am considering a Toyota Tacoma 4-door or a Jeep Rubicon Unlimited 4-door. I am leaning heavily towards the Jeep for its all out fun factor and...

    Pretty darn cool camping trailer...

Have to agree with you there. Not to mention, the Jumping Jack trailer is using canvas. No thanks. Mildew sucks. Biggs

    Pretty darn cool camping trailer...

Yeah...I have to agree on the pricing. Even with the aluminum, all they are using is prefab extrusion. It's not even custom extrusion. With that said, I can buy extrusion for $100 for 20 ft or more. Building one would be fun. The difficult part would be making the tent portion. It's pretty...

    Pretty darn cool camping trailer...

Being an industrial designer myself, I have to admit - this is pretty darn slick. Based on the site, setup and tear down is really easy and it can even be used to tow "stuff". http://www.sylvansport.com/ It appears they have "lowered" the price to $6195 or so for the base unit. I am curious...
