    Kitchen Kit/Chuck Box

Hey Folks...please note, the cost for materials (not time) to build the box I have was right around $120 or so. I suppose, maybe, I could build some for other people. But please note, mine was specifically designed around my new Camp Chef Denali stove. Your box might have to be modified to...

At what point do you move from the cooler to a fridge?

In this feedback lies my question. I have yet to pull the trigger on a fridge. I am curious on battery usage/drainage versus use. 1. Will a single aux battery do the job? 2. If you go solar, how big of a system do you need? TIA.

Wanted to finish it with paint not the usual stain you see everywhere. Not sure why I picked blue...I just did. Looks sweet though. :wings: I'll post up the final pics when it is all loaded up. In the meantime, another crappy phone shot.

Almost there... Thanks for all the input during the build of my little project. Here it is... :victory: all that is remaining is to put on the top hinges and paint / stain it. Note - there were a couple of changes made: 1. The drawers were replaced with the plastic bins. Cheaper and...

Progress... The Kitchen box project got well underway today with the purchase of some birch ply (the lightest, FWIW)... Cut it up and made some significant progress towards completion. Apologies for the crappy phone pic. More to come.

    CampRight SUV Tent review

I know there are a couple folks out there that are interested in the SUV tents (like me). I decided to pull the trigger on the Rightline Campright SUV tent. The manufacturer's website is the following: http://www.rightlinegear.com/suvtents.html Here are my notes from my initial test setup...

At first, I thought about making legs, but there is a 30" high, roll-top aluminum table on Amazon that looks like it would do the job nicely.

Not sure yet. That's the last bit to work through. I might do a piano hinge there as well.

Kitchen box concept - ROUND II. Here is the latest. The darker, pear wood color is 1/4" ply whereas the lighter color is 1/2" ply. I will be going with birch and likely clear coating it. The slots on the top serve as handles when it is all packed up and the holes on the middle vertical is...

I like it. Now...where does one store / transport this when car camping? I have a Land Rover LR3 that will be filled to the gills with gear, kids and the wifey.

Question regarding carrying 1lb Propane tanks

Any thoughts on the proper method of transporting these? I want to put 2-3 in my kitchen box. But upon thinking about it, do I really want to do that? Question 2 - Does someone out there make a carry case for these? Thoughts? TIA.

I understand where you are coming from. Regarding transport - I have ton of space in the Land Rover. The height is more for me. My wife and I are quite tall. I am 6'7" and my wife is 6'1". The height will be just about perfect for us when placed on a picnic table or 30" high collapsible one.

Thanks Kanz. That's what I was afraid of. Weight. I have access to some Carbon Fiber sheets. Very strong and extremely lightweight. I was considering it, but thought the wood would be a nice touch. Hmmm...

Sure thing. I can give you the nitty gritty now. Overall - nice solid components. The plastic items seem durable and robust. I like the fact that the cups are in two parts. 1 part for hot liquids the other for cold. The pans are of the non-stick variety. While not a big fan of the...
