    Flatbed manufacturers

I called them and discussed my plans and ideas. They did not think they could manage the mounts.

    Flatbed manufacturers

I found a local Aluma dealer that is willing to consider making a spring mount - waiting to hear back on their pricing. I had called Alum-Line direct and they had no interest in even considering it. The salesperson I spoke with couldn't even get their head around the idea of camping off-road. I...

    Flatbed manufacturers

I need a flatbed for my 2000 F350 to put a camper on. Who are people going with that are able to manufacture one with a spring mount system? I know AT does and they're working on a quote for me. I've tried Highway Products and Alum-Line without success. I'd prefer aluminum construction and...

Vanilla Gorilla: 2017 Power Wagon build

Yeah the PW thing is what I got hung up on. I forgot that was the truck in question and it comes with a winch from the factory. Duh... FWIW, I spoke w/ Thuren about adapting their bumper for a winch on a Cummins truck and they said they didn't really have a lot of guidance. Bummer.

Vanilla Gorilla: 2017 Power Wagon build

You don't need to install a plate for the winch itself to mount to?

Vanilla Gorilla: 2017 Power Wagon build

Do you mind showing in a little more detail the mods you had to do to the Thuren bumper to get a winch to fit? Do you think you're going to need to modify anything on the truck itself to have the room to fit a winch?

    questions about Flatbed loading/mounting

Are the mounting points for the jacks on the bottom of the camper? Is that how these jacks are designed/spec'd, or is this a custom thing?

    Securing cabinets in the back

For all of you traveling w/ kids in the back of your van conversions, how do you secure all of the cabinetry in rough country (or in case of a roll over)? Is inadvertent opening an issue people have had?

Wired Rear-View Camera/Monitor - any (current) recommendations or cautions?

I also use an iPad for navigation and have been looking for wifi solutions. Do you mind going into some more specifics regarding transmitter and wifi cam options? Thanks!

    Help Me Pick a RTT

Are you asking about hard top tents in general, or specifically about the Alu-Cab? Our Airtop goes up in less than a minute (all bedding is stored inside). Going down takes about 3min alone, maybe 2min w/ help. My wife and I have our tent deployment routine down to a science. No experience...

    Help Me Pick a RTT

I second this. I had a Chinese knock-off soft cover for a while. It was better for my uses than a ground tent, but not by much despite being quite a bit more expensive. The setup, take down, and maintenance (cover, mold control, etc) was a huge hassle. I used it in the PNW and it stayed on my...

    Dogs traveling in camper?

Sorry I wasn't more clear, I meant having them ride in the popup camper, not a trailer. Right now, they ride in the cab, but it is cramped for everyone in our old Toyota pickup.

    Dogs traveling in camper?

Does anyone travel with their dogs in the camper? I tried looking around to see if this has been discussed, but there were so many threads that discussed "dogs" and "campers," it was a little overwhelming. So does anyone do this (assuming the weather isn't too hot, etc)?

Entry of Air top and other shell tents

AirTop allows for entry on either side and the back.

How Repairable is Maggiolina RTT Canvas?

That is funny because I definitely did ask him for some material (I asked about pre-made kits or if they happened to have any leftover material) and he insisted that scavenging material from the tent itself was the best and only option. In the end, I found some pre-glued Gore-Tex fabric from...

How Repairable is Maggiolina RTT Canvas?

So I also had a question about this. I called Autohome and spoke to Andrew. He said to just cut a piece out of some of the excess trim inside the tent to use as a patch. Does Autohome US actually have any material I could buy, rather than cannibalizing the tent? Also, does anyone have any...

Ambulance box on 4 door f350?

Like this? The pass through is visible in this photo gallery behind the jump seat looking forward. The only "real" problem is finding one of these as easily as the type III ambulances. A type I w/ crew cab and 4wd is a rare bird (relatively).
