The M1078A1s (with either the C7 or 3126) are rarer and quite a bit more expensive then the 1st gen M1078 with the 3116. While less power, the advantage is the 3116 is all mechanical so no computer issues to worry about. Speaking with Army mechanics they said one of the biggest issues with the...
Unfortunately that's about as difficult as answering "how long is a piece of string?" It depends. Depends on how rough it was treated by the troops. Depends on how well it was serviced and maintained while active. Depends on how long it sat unused before being auctioned. Depends on how it...
While the designation is a 2.5 ton truck that's just it off road capacity. On road it is 5 ton. The military rated all of it's trucks in that manner until the FMTV line of vehicles. Those, if it says it's 2.5 ton then it's 2.5 ton due to the suspension. The M1078 will bottom out quickly if...
Thanks for letting us know. Had a lot of dealings with GovLiq. Things changed a little on the vehicle side when they lost the contract to GovPlanet but apparently they haven't learned their lesson yet.
I appreciate the effort. I know what it's like being on the short end of a group funding effort (too many times actually) so certainly understand where you're coming from.
22 years as an adjuster, trainer, team leader, branch claims manager, and then regional special lines claims manager. Every company is different on how they handle the minor stuff and then you have to worry about lazy adjusters that just want the file off their desk because there's 3 more a day...
Glad to see you're still working on it. Seems like everyone else with a FMTV truck is selling it for one reason or another. I understand issues with changing circumstances but it's disappointing to get connected to a build and see it end before completion.
You don't get to do both. Either one pays (his own and then they go after the at fault party) or the other. Generally speaking an attorney won't mess with it until unless there's an injury where he thinks he can score and he'll also take 35-45% of anything recovered for his fee.
You make a lot of assumptions, like someone else is at fault. Most front end hits like that are from rear ending another vehicle. So should he sue himself? Just because you don't like insurance companies doesn't mean they're wrong on the value. He can go your route and sit without a vehicle for...
Keeping it from having a salvage title is one of the things you can negotiate. If it's an economic total versus a structural total they have discretion as to whether they notify the state. If something is feasibly repairable you can work that into the deal.
Your best bet is looking for real world comps (eBay comp won't fly). Like brentbba said, maintenance issues don't matter but they should have listed the tires as "clean" since they're new and given a bump in the overall value. You also have the option of taking their offer less the salvage...
Something you might consider "value" or "quality" might be completely different than how I would define those terms so certainly not something I'd take a chance on.
I ran into this problem. I have several (10 I think) dual milspec Scepter can holders off of MRAPs. I thought I'd buy a gas version at COSTCO as I had plenty of diesel Scepters. Got it home and discovered it's wider than the milspec ones and won't fit the holders. Now I'm back to looking for...
I actually have 2 CC 4x4 Titans (well the 2010 is actually the wife's). I just traded my 2011 F250 for a 2015 Pro 4X. I haven't decided if I want to go truck mounted RTT or finish my trailer build though.
