Post your V type (camper converted) Cargo Trailer interior front wall

Tongue weight was a prime reason why I ended up selling my Little Guy Trailer and decided to stick with my m101. Loved it, but it was too heavy to move around by hand - which meant I never took it on the trail. So tongue weight should be a consideration depending on how you plan on using the...

    Intro/Gecko build thread

Not sure what they cost (as I've never bothered to look at/for them), but are they better then just trimming the lip off the stock ones?

    Intro/Gecko build thread

You're talking about their narrow flat metal ones, like in the picture below? Personally I wouldn't. I ran those for around 2 years. I spent more on a new alternator then I did for the fenders. They kick up a TON of mud - most of it lands right on the hood (thus needing a new alternator due to...

    Intro/Gecko build thread

If you're running the entire Teraflex setup (tailgate bracket and tire carrier upgrade), depending on how much gas you're talking about, you might want to look into the Titan Tank. Ordered one from Northridge (should finally be here in 2-3 weeks). It's 10g, but with the upgrades you did to...

    Rubicon X Bumper + Maximus-3 Light mount = Vibration

It's not going to be a rubber bushing issue. Something that the light is attaching to is flexing, thus you're getting the vibrations. A wide thick piece of flat bar might work. If that doesn't, I'd try a similar piece of angle iron (the vert part (which doesn't have to be all that high) might be...

    brake upgrade?

This is what I went with. Works great. Blew through the ceramic pads they came with in 14 mths or so, so switched them up with something from NAPA that's suppose to be pretty decent. Will see how these hold out.

Realistic Amount of Miles You Can Expect From an Unlimited

200k miles (320k kms)? I mean that's not impossible. But it would really depend on how you use your vehicle.

Two year circumnaviagtion of Africa in my 2007 JKUR - The Road Chose Me

Saw the awning. If you remember the rain we got camping that one weekend, and how much space was lost due to no walls, I kinda question how effective that would be in the rain. Good for the sun obviously.

    Gearing question for JKU

35s with 5.13 at 100/60 isn't 3000 RPMs (or anywhere close to that), but ~2380 (will vary slightly depending on the exact size of the tire - higher if the tire is smaller than 35"). 4.88s would be ~2260. 4.88s might be a better option if you're not going to run true 35s. But from what many...

    Gearing question for JKU

The idea is that you'll be in your ideal power band more often instead of below it (or having to gear down and going above it). If you have a lot of hills in your area (or its very windy), this would be more of an issue. If it's flat (and not super windy) then it doesn't help at all. I eaked out...

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

I guess it would depend on where you're planning on traveling and/or living and using this. I like the idea of all the space in the 180, but I dislike the idea of having to "make up" the bed nightly and that's a lot of canvas/mesh/whatever to deal with if it's raining a lot where you plan on...

    2012 JKU Rubicon Build/Adventure Thread

Back from my vacation... decided to make a 'little' side trip to go see my cousin, her husband and their daughter who I hadn't met before (she's 1). Unfortunately it added 1400 km to my trip for the very short visit (I didn't get in until early afternoon, my cousin had to work that evening and I...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

You couldn't just use heavier duty slides? I've thought about this for when I start into my pull out kitchen on my trailer, and while I may ultimately put something there, I'd rather start with bigger slides first and thus avoiding having to have a support post if at all possible.

Hardtop hoist for 20' garage ceiling??

Yeah, but you could use another pulley where the winch is and lower it further along the wall if you wanted to. But I'd definitely go the route of a powered winch of sorts (vs say a hand crank one). That way you should hopefully have the ability to reach the hard top and the winch remote at the...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Rock lights. Completely useless of where I wheel... but I love them! Eventually want to wire them up to trigger off the door locks/interior lights, but for now just running them off a switch. 10 ORO's LiteSPOTs (2-6-2).

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Redid a bunch of wiring. Lightbar was run with 12ga wire, but would get very hot after 10-30 seconds - so wired it up with 10ga wire. Problem solved. Just had to deal with the major hassle of running that size wire. Also rewired my HID driving lights. Was using a ballast extender that allowed me...

What would I be giving up???

Yeah I was reading the OP and just before I got to the part where he started talking about the Teraflex one, I was like man, it sounds like the TF rack would be perfect for what he needs!

What would I be giving up???

what about that new Teraflex rack? Small, lightweight and just covers the rear of the hardtop. Seems like for a smaller RTT (one that isn't the same size as the entire roof length), that it would fit the bill perfectly. Edit. I see if I read your entire post that you were already considering...
