    2012 JKU Rubicon Build/Adventure Thread

Still an issue - although not nearly as much. If I just push it closed fast, it just kisses it. If I close it slowly, it doesn't touch. I'll loosen things up in the next day or so (when it's not raining) and see if there's any options to raise that a tad. On a side note, I inadvertently left...

First Trailer Build - Design Phase

Looks like a very ambitious design. Can't wait to see how it works out!

    Little guy 5'

All depends on how you plan on using it. I had one for two summers, and ended up selling it a couple months ago. I really liked it... but found myself using my m101 w/ RTT more. I loved it for road trips (I usually do several long ones each summer) and when camping in campgrounds or make shift...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

One of the other posters on here said that he knows someone running the Teraflex hinged carrier who has this tank and a 37 spare and that there's no movement at all. Will probably go that route, considering the price difference between the TF hinge ($750 CND) and the AEV arm ($1400).

It does. Well that's cheaper at $750 CND then the AEV arm or a new bumper.

Not sure. When it was empty, the spare was off. I'll empty it tomorrow and will see how it goes.

    Are dual batteries necessary?

I've done multi week adventures and overnight trips into the boonies. I'm still rocking my stock battery (51 mths old) and run a 25L fridge most of the summer. I carry a small battery pack to jump it as "just in case" insurance. I've yet to have an issue.

Honestly? I'm not sure how much different TF would be with this. It might be slightly better, but in the end, this is still ~230 lbs of weigh there, and the TF setup isn't all that different then that of the MorRyde setup. Yes, please let us know what you hear. Long term, no it's not a...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Well, finally got everything setup how I'd planned. MorRyde hinges, tailgate re-inforcement and their tire carrier. Then mounted the Titan Tank, filled it, then loaded up my heavy 35" spare. Thoughts after driving around for a bit. Seems alright. More movement when I rock the tire, however...

Well, finally got everything setup how I'd planned. MorRyde hinges, tailgate re-inforcement and their tire carrier. Then mounted the Titan Tank, filled it, then loaded up my heavy 35" spare. Review mirror is basically useless - which sucks as I'm running my soft doors right now and...

Two year circumnaviagtion of Africa in my 2007 JKUR - The Road Chose Me

Yeah, that's kinda what I've been thinking. I have a ton of room in there on this new tire carrier. Was thinking a heavy plastic bag (zip lock of sorts), inside a mesh one that I can tie in there so it doesn't go anywhere. Then a bungie cord or something to keep both in place.

Two year circumnaviagtion of Africa in my 2007 JKUR - The Road Chose Me

Hey question for you. Where do you keep your syphon hose? I'm fine with keeping it in the cab before I've used it or after it's aired out... but where do you keep yours right after you finish using it? In the past when I used one, I just tossed it in a bag and put it in the gas carrier I had...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Added my MorRyde tailgate support and spare tire carrier and the Titan Tank. Review mirror is basically useless - which sucks as I'm running my soft doors right now and using the mirrors on the heat vents to be legal. Lots and lots of shoulder checks before lane changes. Fortunately l...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

There shouldn't be any noise. I never noticed any noise from mine - even when all I had was the raisers. Now with the lightbar odds are I wouldn't notice either way.

    new 416's?

I don't think there's any difference between the MB kit and the 416. It's a 4x6 bed. The Ruger trailer bed is smaller. It's not as deep and it's 4x5 instead of 4x6.

2.0L turbo four for the new Wrangler?

Probably doesn't help if your jeep weighs 6000 lbs... Just saying... :wavey: :coffeedrink:

    Jeeper's 2016 JK project

Two things. First off, it looks good. I like the tires. Secondly, light trail and backroad exploring and rubi transfer case, lockers and a D44 up front are really overkill for what you said you'll be using it for. Don't get me wrong - I've gone way overkill for how I usually use mine, but those...

    Sleeping in a JKU?

My original thought was just build a small platform above the floor for storage under neath and to get a flat floor, then at the rear of the jeep put in a shelf of sorts to accommodate both sleeping and storage. But then I realized it's usually just me soloing in the jeep, and thus I can stack...

Two year circumnaviagtion of Africa in my 2007 JKUR - The Road Chose Me

Really? You mean tires that stick out past the bumper or out past the fenders? Definitely something for others who might consider something like this to keep in mind - as honestly, I never even thought about it.
