I tried J.T. Brooks Automatic Tire Deflators PRO (ATDP4) -- which were pre-set to about 32 PSI -- the last time I went out on the trail. They made farting noises and let *all* the air out of my tires. ? I'm not super excited to try them again.
I think I'll stick with my cheap keychain...
Because I want to stick with Windows (on my Surface tablet) I use SAS.Planet. You need to be a bit of a hacker to get this free Russian software working, but it allows you to download maps from any web source and bring them with you offline for your trip. I have OpenStreetMaps, CalTopo USGS...
If anyone's wondering what the difference is between the JTBrooks "Pro" deflators ($100) and the JTBrooks not-Pro ones ($70) -- the Pro ones have PSI calibration markings written on them, while the cheaper ones don't. https://jtbrooks.com/our-products

Great info, thanks!
My concern about doing the manhole-style temporary wheels is that they may be so thin that with the concentrated weight of the truck the disc wheels would carve deep grooves into (or splinter) the wood bottom of the shipping container - and so I might be responsible for...
So true, and I'm still catching myself forgetting this.
One of my travel hobbies is trying side tracks, just to see where they go. I'll spend all day in an area exploring all the little "roads". Most of them peter out, so I end up having to turn around in tight places. With anything much longer...
