Fridge Advice - Weird space to fill

    Here $1200 is a good price... I’ve been quoted $1500. Vs $950 for a CRX-50... or possibly a bit less from Randy’s.

Fridge Advice - Weird space to fill

It has plenty of space to keep some meat, eggs, milk, and drinks cold. I've not camped in it much so its hard to say. This weekend I switched it to full freezer mode and had 48 hamburger patties, 2 Costco packs of chicken, 15 chicken kabobs, a pack of meat balls, and a dozen Jumbo freezes in it...

Fridge Advice - Weird space to fill

Top on my list would be a Dometic CRX-50 followed by a CRX-65. Possibly even two CRX-50 units side by side. They have three modes: Fridge, Fridge/Freezer, Freezer. I am very happy with my CRX-50. Custom units get very expensive... more than buying 2 CRX-50 units. Or a pair of Indel B - CRUISE...

    E350 Interior noise and steering?

I’m glad you’re making progress. :D Random thoughts... I’ve noticed the noise / engine noise probably triples if the windows are open much. It came with wind deflectors which do help a lot, but if the window is half way down, forget easy conversation. Which leads me to wonder if door &/or...

Bob the Campulance. E350 Crestline with Roof Raise. V3 in Progress.

I’m not surprised you’re seeing 15 litres per 100 km. I’ve got that at 80-85 mph and better cruising on the highway at lower speeds. In stop and go city traffic it’s more like 20 litres per 100 km... which is to somewhat be expected with 10 minute trips getting 9k+ moving repeatedly.

Bob the Campulance. E350 Crestline with Roof Raise. V3 in Progress.

Just wait till you replace the cheap 12v cooler for a Dometic CRX-50 or bigger. I’ve run most of the “long weekend” on a pair of golf cart 6V batteries... with it in full freezer mode. Randy’s Truck shop has them for about $500 usd. I’ve posted before what their promo code is that will save...

    Hello from germany!

Welcome :D Don’t worry about your English, it’s fine, and we will understand well enough even if it’s not perfect... ours often isn’t. You’ve got a good looking rig there. Rather than filling and painting holes, I have painted plastic plugs to match body colour and inserted them into the...

Oh no - Express busted door hinge

If you have enough meat in the hinge, I’d recommend using ‘OiLite’ bronze bushings to ensure it doesn’t freeze up again.

Adding an intercooler to a 1995 7.3 Diesel Van!

I put off getting rid of my diode type isolator for far too long. It led to the premature death of many batteries. I’d recommend ditching it in favour of an ACR (automatic charge relay).

Ambulance 2wd regear for lower noise and better fuel economy?

I'd factor in that you're 9K+ empty every day. It also depends on your tire size. With 225/75R16s it would be quite different than with larger tires with 3.73. That said, I'm running 225s with 4.11s and get better fuel economy than most others on the forums. I'm not sure 10% lower rpm would...

    Battery Isolator on 6.0l E350

Blue Sea instructions say to isolate the house batteries and run the alternator directly to the starting batteries. If I understood the instructions correctly, the starter should not be drawing power through the ACR.

Ambulance 2wd regear for lower noise and better fuel economy?

3.73 will lower your rpm by about 10% I been told some of the Crestline rigs came with highway gears and others with lower ones. I’m really happy with 4.10s, but I did find towing a trailer on the highway it lost it’s snappiness. If you’re interested in the towing I’d not go taller... but...

Ambulance Camper/ Expedition Rig Conversion FAQ

As for the O-rings... it’s either now by choice or later when they’re leaking and leaving a puddle on the ground every time you stop. :D

Ambulance Camper/ Expedition Rig Conversion FAQ

I replaced all the O-rings and fuel lines going to the fuel bowl when I did mine. It had been leaking a lot. It just occurred to me that’s why I remember it being a sucky job. Fuel filter alone won’t be 1/10 as bad. BTW, I bought O-rings and fuel filter from DieselORings.com and would highly...
