The OEM FRP torsion bar has 23 splines, 60.5 inches in length. This one has been in service since 2009 (5+years, many trips).

Thanks Scott. I almost sold this a time or two, but I'm quite happy tinkering and improving bits here and there over time. Some folks drink scotch and smoke cigars, I turn wrenches and dream of the next mod. Big trips planned this year, no point doing all this work not to take her out and play :D

The truck is back on the road after an extended stay in dry dock - new additions include the All-Pro Offroad APEX aluminum bumper, Rigid Industries grill, SR-20 light bar, D-2 driving lights and an SR-50 light bar mounted up top via SoCal Super Trucks brackets. - Now on to wiring and switching...

I'm wondering about all the folks that have done the SS-135 retrofit kit - and cut holes - will the new snorkel require a new fender and different placement of holes drilled in the A pillar? Is there really any difference in airflow (CFM) delivered to the 1GR-FE or would the change to this new...

It's two pieces fore and aft- the forward section is the foundation for the forward module (pictured) but in this case it could be one piece if we wanted but due to the heater and my battery pack that you can not see in the right corner we went with a two piece design.

The Goose Gear Version 2.0 mounting looks like this - 6 bolts total holding it to the bed and the modules attach to this via nutserts in the deck. Obviously, my setup is complicated by the heater (see intake and exhaust for the Propex Heatsource 200 from Adventure Trailers on the right) but...

IIRC they make two styles of inserts, the softer closed cell foam style (pictured) and a more upscale "cordura" type material. Bothe types of inserts are designed to be left in the drawer vice pulled out and used on the go.

I have modified the Goose Gear drawers with Trek Pak liners. So with the Goose Gear system and the modular storage via Front Runner Outfitters Wolf Pack and Flat Pack storage boxes we're pretty dialed in for any potential mission set. Stay tuned for the full Monty soon... LOTS of upgrades all...
