I know, totally impractical and improbable... but still, how cool a vehicle could you build out of that base? :)
Anybody have any experience with these? They look pretty sturdy and come in a couple of different sizes and seem pretty reasonably priced ($45-60 each). I've just ordered a few to check out.

On my recent 6200 mile trip, this happened about 600 miles from home. I drove the rest of the way back while keeping an eye on the other studs. I could see that they were all slowly torquing round - but fortunately everything held together for the remainder of the return trip.
I finally...
Other than my local dealership, what do folks with Fusos in the USA find to be good parts sources - for spares, etc.
I know Busbee is a good source for the larger salvage parts, thinking more the consummables & things you would want to buy new.
Thanks!
Using a bluetooth OBD2 adapter and the android "Torque" program I am able to read fault codes with no issue - but the live data is completely wrong (engine RPM, coolant temperature, etc). Anyone else try messing around with this?
Also - related question - Fault Code P1335, any experience with...
So now that I have made the change to SRW, I need to develop a way to stow the spare. The best option is going to be off the back of the truck on a drop down mount. Any pointers to folks that have done something similar to this already?
Thanks!
As a lot of you already know, I am the new owner of the "Hackney BEV", which was well documented and discussed here during the build phase several years ago. Doug Hackney's original build is well documented here so I won't go into that in this thread.

I'm trying to separate the metal components of the mirror stay from the plastic so I can sandblast and powder coat. I can't figure out how to disengage the bottom piece, as shown in the line drawing. I've figured the rest of it out. Any hints?
Thanks!
I've realized that my diesel fuel filler necks are rusting like crazy on the inside. This pile is from what I could reach with the wire brush. Can only imagine what has dropped into the tank as well. :Wow1:
Any advice on how to thoroughly clean it out (do I need to get it sandblasted?) and...
I'm starting to spec out an Alu flatbed for my crew cab as the base for my lightweight camper build. I'm planning on an 80" (cab width) bed. Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom?
Thinking something along these lines...
When I acquired the Fuso, the truck camper had the standard two sided ceiling lights, each with one incandescent and one vintage cool white LED assembly. I hate incandescents (I spent my early years as an engineer designing those helical CFLs you see all over the place now) but to be honest...

Looking through the threads, it seems that there are several alternatives for SRW (in the US market)

Yesterday I completed my search for the base vehicle for a build.
2007 Fuso FE145 crew cab with just under 200k miles.
Doesn't appear to be anything offensively wrong with it. Guy I had pick the truck up for me was able to drive it 600 miles with no issues (other than the incredibly rough...
