Thanks John. From the pictures the internal door appears to be a fabric mesh material. Either way its no biggie as it appears you have tried the aircraft style door and found it not worth the trouble. That pretty much answers my question.
Another approach
Why not completely separate the camper and its frame from the cab and its frame. Similar to a 5th wheel trailer with all the stress and articulation on the hitch pin. Or like an articulating loader or transit bus?
Each frame could be stiff wouldn't have to flex yet the pivot...
Saw pictures of the all terrain warriors aircraft style doors. Seems pretty clever. Self supporting, secure closure and doesn't take up floor space.
However after just watching a video they seem very slow and unpractical. It appears they are designed to be opened and left open. How do you keep...
At the risk of appearing to hijack this thread I would like to ask a few questions and make some comments.
River boats are not uncomfortable. I can spend days in mine fishing and running the river. :sombrero: BTW how would a Fuso Canter 4x4 pull my boat? Boat and trailer up to 9000 lbs.
I am...
I want to make sure I understand. You are suggesting mounting the box tighter to the frame which will limit frame flex (because of box rigidity) and force the suspension to do more of the work? Assuming the answer is yes at what point does the box become over stressed and what safeguards are...
Hello what a great build thanks for posting.
A question. It appears from the pictures that the camper has only three smallish windows mounted high. Do you wish you had better views and are the windows low enough to see out when seated?
How is the mechanism for a slide out different then one for a pop top? Other then having to carry the weight it would appear to be similar. Keep in mind I am a newbie here.
My thought is a side door hinged just like an enclosed trailers rear door. You know the kind that hinge at the bottom...
Whatcharterboat, thanks for the reply. Would it be possible to see a picture of how the "canvass" is attached to the camper body? Interesting comments regarding ventilation. I also do like the idea of a 360 degree view via the translucent material in the "canvass".
My question was...
Yes my question was about the transmission and specifically the torque converter on the automatic transmissions which appears to be the only option of USA spec trucks.
