You must treat them very well. The owner of these tyres parked next to me tells me he has 46000 km on them Neil

    DC to DC Chargers

I think Gel , Led Acid or Agm are a different animal to Lithium and they need the charging current regulated down to protect the batteries and charge them correctly . Neil

    DC to DC Chargers

My Victron B2B charger has fried itself, which is very disappointing as I had hardly used it I have heard you guys talk about Renogy units but can't find a 24v to 24v unit. Does such a unit exist or what are the alternatives available in North America Thanks Neil

I personally think that the Michelin XZL tyres, are over priced and very over rated. Yes in the mud they are going to be good, but this is maybe less than 1 % of your journey. I never understood the logic of making such an important and expensive decision on less than 1% of their use. I'm...

    Funny Occurance in Mexico

Hi Guys , I thought I would share a funny thing that happened to us. We have just arrived in Mexico and our Truck is in a Customs compound at the Port of Veracruz going through the Importation process. Its all going very well and relatively easy . The Truck has been subject to several...

Possible driveline update OM352A to OM906LA

Hi Nick I don't think the OM352a engine can be remapped. It's far too old for all that electric Trickery Mechanical adjustments such as the pump is about as good as it gets. Neil

    Things in the Tank

Thanks for the heads up , I genuinely wasn't aware of that . Unfortunately my Owners Manuel is in the truck , many thousands of miles away, so I can't check what's required. Do you need to disconnect both the forward and the rear shafts or just the ones connected to axles that will turn...

Merkabah: MB 2626 AK 6x6 tipper to expedition truck conversion

We stayed with Pairoa for a month in 2018. I don't think there's a not or bolt on the vehicle that hasn't been polished up, or replaces. It was like showroom condition. Very impressive, but still had lots to do Neil

Wiring on compressor line, need help

If the airline was cut I am pretty sure you would hear it . All of those devices that don't work are on the same Auxiliiary circuit, usually the last one to be pressurised. If you can't findca physical air leak then I would be looking at the 4 way protection valve. It will be near your tanks...

Wiring on compressor line, need help

Mine has exactly the same button. It starts your engine when the cab is tipped. The problem when you use it is the stopping it . Neil

I'm with Joe . More than happy with our factory original 170hp. This desire for more and more power isn't for me. Our travelling life is pretty slow and sedate so all that power would be wasted on me. Neil

Visco Fans and falling off parts...

Interesting thread about viscous fans. Out of interest, how often do you think they actually engage. I have never seen my running, but I have heard it kick in on a handful of occasions when I have been crawling over the Andies at high altitude and my tempreture has crept up a little . I...

Dedicated Heating / Hydronics / Diesel heating thread

Alloy Ordinarily we would not be heating the engine . This would only happen just prior to starting before leaving. I'm.not sure what you mean by passive heating. The fans in the heater matrix uses very little electrical energy. I think less than1 amp per hour. The furnace does use some...
