I'd say roof top tent and Engle fridge w/ the battery are my two most used options. In so saying that I also would order the base trailer with brakes as that is difficult to add later.
I have owned two FJ55, a FJ40, a FJ62 and a FJ80 and now own a Defender. The way I view it is that you can drive a Toyota into the ground and bring it back to highly reliable pretty easy. A Rover on the other hand is a constant relationship. The successful Rover owners I know are sticklers...
Since Tim's at AT this morning I'll spill the beans. He is picking up an Engle and a slide for the rear of the Horizon. We are going to wire up his 40 for a 12V power lead to the 7 Pin this evening. Gotta keep the ice cream frozen:)
That pretty much summarizes the experience. I tell people that I get a smile on my face just driving to the convenient store to grab a gallon of milk. I'm fanatical with preventative maintenance, but to me that is part of being prepared. I've had incredible reliability when out in the...
I've got to say a definite yes, the trailer is worth it in economy mode. The bones of the trailer are what counts and it gets you out exploring quickly and without tying your weekends up engineering something in the garage. I was just talking to Mario about some little rubber bumpers that fit...
Oh man, you are just wrong. You can't leave us hanging like that. I'm going to have to bring my fatigues and face paint to do some inverstigating come shop night:)
No, I'm serious about the $35,002, don't laugh:)
You (still) have one of the best Rover build-ups I've ever seen. I swear if I had the money I'd be all over it. I can't remember if you are up for a trade or not, but if you are thinking of a 90 let me know.
Hang in there Michael, that is exactly how I got my 90. I couldn't get to see it in person before the E-Bay auction ended so I figured if it were still around I'd go for a visit. The rest is history.
BTW, I'll give you $35,002.00:)
Are you planning on running a roof rack? I'm personally a big fan of keeping all the weight off the roof if possible and have actually gotten rid of my Safety Devices basket along with all of the other accessories up high. You cannot go wrong with keeping the weight down low and within the...
Lookin good! Exactly were are those 55 springs coming from and does Martyn know about it yet;) Will the 55 springs allow you to push the rear axle back further to get your 98"? If so are you going to sculpt the rear arches?
