I have zero space on the floor of my LJR.(underside) That being said, the extended length of the 2 door unlimited, makes the rear wheel well housings a great place to store things!

Your idea sounds interesting. Have you thought about maybe raising the rear cargo floor as well, for a trade off? Most will not pack items, all the way to the roof.

Coast lighting, offers full lifetime warranty on most of their line. I have a single AA cell, pocket light, that I carry every day for work. They promptly replaced Two of them, so far.

The catalytic converters are tucked up fairly high under the hood on TJ's. Reducing under hood volume, would not be a option for most.

I have a Metra kit to update the head unit to 2din. Still shopping for a head unit. Thinking I might like to have one with TPMS.

I think the dash in the TJ, is part of what made it so popular. Finally a Jeep, with modern HVAC controls.

I'm running the same rig, same set-up. I only achieve about 13 mpg. Can't help but wonder if, when I replaced the OPDA, that I am off by 1 tooth? When time allows, I will set to spec, per the service manual.
