At what point to do you give up on a D1? Can they be made reliable?

Never had an apex seal go on me. Most of the guys who do this repeatedly are victims of a "more boost is better" mindset.

6.5L mil spec diesel for sale

Whenever these come up at surplus auctions here in Hawaii they sell almost instantly for well above list price. No surprise that you would be able to get them off your hands so quickly.

Gotcha. The compressed and extended lenghts of the Bilsteins sound solid for the ride height you [and I] are running. The Fox 14s come in at 35 and 21 which seems like it would over extend or get crushed and the 12s are 30 and 18 which doesnt seem big enough.

Its basically a semi-derogatory term for guys who have mall crawlers with Metal Mulisha and Monster Stickers on them. They may also have lots of chrome, oversized wheels on weak axles (no regearing) with King shocks that are way overkill for their rig. Its just kind of an image thing. I saw them...

As much as King has been associated with "Bro-roaders", they still make a pretty decent product from my experience, but I've used Fox more frequently.

Potentially building a Disco2. Thoughts? Opinions?

Just wanted to chime in real quick. I'm quite new to this forum but I've been around Land Rovers for a couple years now. I've owned a D1, D2 and RRC. The D2 was the best to drive. The D1 was the most capable. The RRC had issues [that was more a byproduct of shotty POs] but was overall very...

Dammit Zack stop stealing my thunder. Btw, what size shocks are you going with for the switch? What made you go with Bilstein over Fox or King? V/R Erick
