If you want to get a Raptor why not look for a 2011-2014 model? Their value may drop as soon as the 2017 comes out, so it will be a buyers market. Then again the 6.2L could still retain enough value to people who care about that type of thing that you still see 40K mile Raptors just a hair under...
Yes, sort of. I'm not going to be lugging around a RTT and rack for day to day use, but I have drawers permanently installed [in the bed] as well as a few other things bolted in. I keep most of the medical and some of the recovery gear in there to cover my *** just in case.
I'm going to double down on the ICON recommendation. I only put about 200 miles on it, but it was just as comfortable as my Raptor on road and miles better offroad.
In the sake of parity I will say check out Camburg as well. I know they are known for their prerunner style, but I've seen many...
To the situation posted by the OP, I'd would get the Raptor, but I'm biased. I think I would also wait a year to allow all the teething issues to be worked out. I think the Power Wagon may be heartier than the Raptor, but if I was going that direction [bigger truck, solid axles] I probably would...
The payload capacity of the 2014 Ford Raptor Super Crew is just a bit over 1000 pounds. I'm just spit balling, but my guess is that the 2017 Raptor will be a bit more powerful and a bit lighter, so maybe a 1300 or 1400 pound payload capacity isn't out of the question. If you want a new F150 they...
ICON would be a good place to start your search: http://iconvehicledynamics.com/shop/469-f150-suspension-systems
They are fairly pricy, but they are very very good. I do not have them on my truck, but I've driven an ICON equipped Raptor and they are amazing. There are more expensive and better...
Just in case you're looking at some of the winch mounts, Rough Country goes for about 200, and the SDHQ is about 400 and requires drilling into the frame during installation. I think a 12K winch would be the best bet, but I know that the few who do have winches mounted say that usually 9.5 or a...
Yeah I went from driving a paid off car to paying twice what I was when I had a payment, but I don't care. Its so worth it. I have the money, so its not an issue!
Nice Truck Rock-Eater. We've already had discussion about rear bumpers on the Raptor Forum. I'm still looking at local...
Raul, like I said last time we talked, if I can maintain the backup sensors and mount the tire (tires?) so that it doesn't block the camera, I'll be all over this.
I've just powered through this whole thread and while I already had an idea of what I wanted to do with my Raptor, this has helped shaped what I'd like to do as well!
You could go two way in my opinion: Find the most unloved Disco and redo everything on it so that you know the vehicle inside and out, or find the most mint 99-01 or 04 D2 you could find and hope that you don't have to do the first opinion.... which you will probably be doing anyways.
I've had...
Ultra gauge. Nothing beats it for the peace of mind, and for 60 bucks, I'll call it cheap.
I repainted the headliner for about 25 bucks
I added LEDs to the overhead lights for about 8 bucks.
I made this grill for about 2 bucks as well.
Thanks Zack. Now that I have the tires on I can totally see what you were saying about the 255 over the 285. I'm just happy they don't rub, even if they are a bit on the heavy side. Once the gears get thrown in, it should be a pleasure to drive.
Thank you! Oahu has a handful of different...
