It was 3:00 p.m. when we started this hike and once we passed the steepest grade the walk was fairly easy.....I kept telling myself that we needed to head back but it was so beautiful up there on that ridge.....so we kept on hiking..... I finally decided that we'd turn around at 4:00 p.m...

Our next stop was in Kayenta, Arizona (population around 5,500).....a fairly good size town located within the Navajo Nation (Dine') Indian Reservation.....the plan for this town was to simply make a stop at the local Burger King for my favorite veggie burger, fries, & large coke.....just love...

Amazing views were had from the canyons rim..... We followed the trail across massive rock slabs and were constantly on the lookout for stone cairns..... .....as the trail weaved its way down into the canyon..... Things were actually going quite well until we got to this...

Pkripper.....I had Muley Point all to myself.....only there for 24 hours but didn't see a soul. And actually, for the most post, I'm not seeing many people out there in my travels this year. There were definitely more last year (so far)..... Ace.....I know that spot but we didn't drive there...

pkripper / Ace.....not a secret place & didn't mean to mislead.....it's Alstrom Point.....my guess is that others could easily make it there in less time but 2 hours from Big Water, Utah is about as good as it gets for me.....the last few miles of that road were brutal..... Sierra...

So now we're retracing our steps from last years visit to Bears Ears National Monument.....we had overnighted here previously and I knew it to be a good spot to stay..... There are ruins here but I won't post more pictures of them.....there's plenty here from a year ago already...
