    Gravity feeding auxiliary tanks

No, sorry, not on the Toyota. Basically, I took a 26 gallon Blazer NOS diesel fuel tank I got from Coleman's Surplus (PA), made my own mounts and installed it where the spare tire originally went. I had to cut out the spare tire cross brace. Since the tank was new and never held any fuel, I...

Non Carb Wedco Jerry Cans for $48 on Ebay

The red one appears to be the Wedco jerry can since it has the gold locking pin. The green ones look like standard military jerry cans, manufacturer unknown.

    Dual-Battery Trailer wiring diagram

Definitely do this! Also, I would recommend a 200 amp constant duty relay vs the 75 amp version. Since a 200 amp only cost about $15 or so, this would probably be a good idea. Western makes a plow relay, I'll see if can dig up the part number. Good luck.

Auxiliary/replacement fuel tank for gas engine

Replacement fuel tanks should be available from Transfer Flow and Titan, sorry don't have their sites. Be aware that both = $$$. I've found at least a couple gas transfer tanks for pickup beds, but it's been a while. Keep searching, looking for transfer tanks, not aux fuel tanks. If it was...

    Gravity feeding auxiliary tanks

I had an Auxiliary Fuel Systems 15 gallon gravity feed tank on my old '85 Nissan and now have a 26 gallon gravity feed aux fuel tank for my '85 4runner, giving me a total of about 45 gallons with the OEM and one five gallon jerry can. A bunch of good info in this thread, especially given that...

    Jerry Can for Water

Good point about the free shipping for +$50, I didn't know if that was still in effect, hence didn't mention it. Everything I've heard about both LCI and their MWCs has been positive or better than positive. And I read a lot of water container threads on several different types of forums...

    Cast Iron Restoration

I got one of those a couple years ago, except it was in a lot worse shape. I used the electrolysis method to clean it out; a couple gallons of water, with some A&H soap and a 6 amp manual battery charger plus a scrap piece of steel. Came out in great shape, sanded it a bit, then redid the...

Ammo Can seller in the Nevada Desert?

Yep, first thing I thought of too. That guy is pretty nice, we stopped there during out Summer 2008 Desert Trip, he had a lot of interesting tales to tell us. He also warned us of the speed trap in Goldfield: 25 mph meant 25 mph and one mile over would lead to a speeding ticket. Good luck. Al

    Question: Cooking with cast iron

I think the recommendation is to not cook acidic foods until the seasoning is well established. I cook spaghetti sauce in my cast iron all the time, no worries. Cooking in CI adds iron to your diet. For most, that's a good thing. One link on the subject...

    Lifting the hood for cooling

I did this for my '85 4runner, except I used a $4 heater vent cover from Lowe's, sorta qhetto, but it works. I don't have cooling problems, but I did it to make sure there were no cooling problems while exploring DVNP during the summer.
