difference in water and fuel cans

Spec for the MFC are attached. The MWC spec at 572 KB exceeds this sites attachment requirements; if anyone wants it, shoot me an e-mail address or post instructions on how to post a big .pdf file. Most has already been covered. Just because they're both made of HDPE, doesn't mean they're the...

Big Gas tank, Jerry Cans, or both?

I opted for both: a 26 gallon aux fuel tank under body where the spare tire used to go and a five gallon jerry can on the spare tire rack. With this combo plus the OEM fuel tank, I can carry about 46 gallons of fuel. In this pic, you can just barely see the skid plate for the 26 gallon fuel...

Siberian husky as a family dog?

I had my Alaskan Malamute for just over 12 with 10 of those years in North Alabama. Their coat protects them from the heat just as it does from the cold. You've already heard the comments about working them, they love it! Sibes and Malamutes are very intelligent animals, they will need to...

Do you feel the need to have a weapon when camping

Like someone said: "Why wouldn't you carry a gun?" I'll let you decide whether or not I carry, or my son, from the pic below. This was from our 2008 summer desert trip when my son was "only" 13; he's 15 now (and much bigger). And anyone who uses (bogus) gun accident statistics on a vehicle...

Balancing - Trailer wheel and tire

I got my trailer tires balanced, then I put 4-6 oz. of antifreeze in each tire to dynamically balance them. I also use the antifreeze in my Toyota 4runner and Pathfinder. I have the Centramatics on my PSD. Dynamic balancers work great. Definitely get your trailer tires balanced.

    Rusty/Stuck Bolts

Ha! I didn't know anyone else did that other than me. I use a 50/50 mix of used motor oil and diesel though. It does help with the rust and corrosion. Al

    Army trailer specs

Yep, that's it. I didn't look through all 268 pages to see if the drawing I posted above in included in it, I don't think it is, but it might be. I've also got the 1/4 and 1 1/2 ton trailer specs if anyone wants a copy; however, it doesn't appear to be all that useful. LMK. Al

    Replacement larger diesel tanks

The last two pages are a copy of a USDOT letter categorically stating that gravity feed of diesel fuel is legal per USDOT. Transfer Flow states on their website that gravity is illegal "... except ICC diesel systems." In other words, TF is lying. Or they are incompetent, of both. If I had...

    Replacement larger diesel tanks

Here's one way, this is for a 2006 PSD, but RDS/Northern Tools sells the same tank and gravity feed kit for the Dodges. http://www.rocketcityrockcrawlers.com/bigred/Aux-Fuel-Tank/Installing_an_Aux_Fuel_Tank_paper_2007-06-18_R1.pdf The last two pages pretty much prove that Transfer Flow is...

    Anyone into Field Herpetology?

About as close as I want to get to a dangerous snake: Stolen, I'll leave it to you to ID the snake and it's probable/possible location. You're right about EDBs though: I once say a snake demo at the local outdoors store years ago, they had both EDB and Timber rattlers on display. The EDBs...
