Gophere,I think you missed the point of this thread...I was trying to see if there were any other black powder geeks here on the Portal. There are already tons of threads here in the Sportsman section where people love to show off their black rifles. I thought it would be nice if there was a...
Meh...just another stack of "Look at Me" Guns...everybody and his brother has at leat one these days. There a lot like tatoos in that aspect. What do you do with them other than drop brass on the ground?
I love my old antiquainted long guns. There's just something about slipping through the...
Yeah, I usually presuure wash everything too..but it is the middle of winter here in the hitherlands of Pennsylvania...so we get to work with grimy engines. Just don't want to wait for spring.
What, no Racer Red?
Looks good. We're currenly swapping out a 4.0 out of my daughter's XJ...I wish the motors we're dealing with were as clean as that mill of yours.
Will some member in the greater DC, Fredericksburgh, VA area rush on over to check on Tango...I fear he's either has suffered a severe bout of Asian Flu or his Chinese mistress has just slipped the old fart to much Cialias.
The Other Black Rifle…
I have a confession to make…please don’t heap scorn upon me…I don’t own a semi-auto rifle. Gasp…I know… that’s pretty lame but there it is. Thought about picking one up, shot quite a few but in the end I was like…meh. As putting game on the table is my prime reason for...
What an excellent trip repot and some darn fine pictures to boot! Well done folks...it sure looked like a good time. Posts like this remind me how large and diverse the enviroment is here in the States, and having been mostly here east of the old Miss I find it hard to imagine spending days...
I think a spot for where one can post their honest, but not ignorant, feelings on any subject without fear of possibly offending one of the 63,000+ members here is a good idea. Couching ones words becomes a roadblock to freely sharing ideas, expressing who you truly are or in telling it like it...
Thats a well spun tale.
We've spent many a day hiking, paddling and rock scrambling across Mount Desert but have never seen it with a heavy coat of snow before. Its seems a whole new place with a blanket of snow.
That's a nice lookin' DC. I love those in black and we just don't see that color on the local DCs around here in these parts. White ones and Silver ones like mine are a dime a dozen though, but there are very few dark colored ones.
Well shucks...thanks for taking the time to read this rambling goofball antics off a thread. Good luck with your Tundrabird, I hope it takes you out to many adventures. Just be sure to share your epic wanderings with us.
Some how I missed your post Matt. That Diehard is chugging out electrons just fine...I'm pretty darn happy with it. As a matter of fact I just bought a new Diehard Platinum for the Jeep as the battery for that went suicidal.
That fit up there right nice Carl, thank goodness good old JD was there to offer his mad fab skills to ya. Have you come up with a solution for hauling the 'yaks yet?
On a side note, I'm diggin' the Willys. Did you channel it? The body looks low on the frame. And what direction are you...
:Wow1: Fun. Fun. Well good sir, this is a serious forum for serious discussion of all the finer aspects of the overlanding lifestyle. Fun is not welcome here as it is a distraction from the hard bitten realities of driving an overladen vehicle around in someone else's back yard. How dare you...
Spoken like a true street racer.
That would be a nice set-up but I'd still like to see someone swap the 4.7 IForce and 5 speed auto out of a 1st gen Tundra into a Taco. Hell I might even be tempted to get a Tacoma if it had a V8 under the hood. Those V6s just don't have enough...
I'm envious off all the time you got to get out there this year...here's hoping for better days and even more "mucking about" time for the Capers Clan in 2013. And we can't wait to share another fire with you 'ins this coming year.
