    Headlights for 1120

We have twin Hadley air horns. Bought them from a Dutch company. They sound deafening. You have to have the pull cord from the roof. Neil

Winch or not and if so sizing of one

We don't have one and so far haven't needed one. I agree with the above post that the chances of their beingbperfect winching conditions in the place you get stuck are slim. We have 25 ton strap and this has been used when a tractor pulled us out of some mud. When using a strap to pull someone...

Hello From NZ and help with a Big decision to make

We had our layout taped with black electrical tape on our living room floor for two years before we bought the truck. We even mocked up furniture. It paid off as 7 years later we are still happy and wouldn't change it Neil

    Headlights for 1120

Ours too. It's like having a couple of candles in there. They are that old yellowish look. I simply added a couple of LED spot lamps under the bumper. We try not to drive at night so it's not a major issue. I will be interested in your solution Neil

Hello From NZ and help with a Big decision to make

Hi and welcome to the forum My advice would be similar to Simons ( Sitec). I would recommend going simple. Nearly everything mechanical can be fixed on the road. Complex electronics bring their own challenges when they play up. I would avoid anything over Euro 5 if you want to go over 3000m...

    Mercedes 1222A.. The beginning!

Jason.its a Dilemma. I was offered a set of 4 made by MAN, that were made for my tyre size, just before we left. They had never been used and were being given to me. The must have cost a fortune. The weight and storage size made it impossible to take them. Luckily, despite being at 5000m ...

    Mercedes 1222A.. The beginning!

Hi Jason. Are you looking to carry snow chains. We seriously looked at this but the extra weight and packed size was a deciding factor. I think a decent set for my truck was near 160kg in weight. Luckily so far we haven't found ourselves needing them. I think fitting them in deep mud or snow...

    Pneumatic clutch assistance.

Hi Pairoa. Thanks for the info and the pictures. My knee is hanging on so this is a slow burn project , the sort you think about for a year or so. Since leaving your place 28 months ago we have only made it to Quito and we are getting slower. Colombia next week. Glad to see your project is...

    Pneumatic clutch assistance.

Agreed. It would be near impossible on my gearbox in the conditions I drive in ie steep inclines up and down and high altitude. Sometimes on a hill start you have done 3 gear changes before you have reached 15kmph. Not appropriate Any way this is the sort of kit I am considering ...

    Pneumatic clutch assistance.

Sorry to upset you. I sometimes get a little bit offended when you ask for advice on a technical or mechanical subject to be told that I need to alter the way I drive. I wasn't asking for driving advice but on a specific device. Please accept my apologies and we can leave it there. Neil

    Pneumatic clutch assistance.

I bow to your relatively low altitude skills. Clearly, I am a mere amateur in comparison. But I don't think it would be practical or possible in lots of my circumstances in my truck. Do you have any info on a pneumatic clutch assist for the slave cylinder, which is what I was looking for...

    Pneumatic clutch assistance.

Joe. I have looked at this and will probably try it. However, there are two strong springs mounted on the top of the pedal. When the pedal is pushed to the floor the springs compress to about just over half way, then they re expand for the last bit of movement. In essence the create pedal...

    Pneumatic clutch assistance.

On a flàtish highway, no problem. Climbing up and down the Andes when your truck has only 30 % power is a different matter. I doubt they do the hundreds of clutchless changes here. I will bear it in mind though Thanks Neil

    Pneumatic clutch assistance.

Not sure what you mean. If you mean clutchless changes then this isn't practical or possible in most conditions Jon, I currently don't have EPC. If you do then maybe you could have wuicknpeak for me cause I know your not busy. Lol. WDB38011315418690 Thanks Neil
