So far I've only put it in the ceiling, but am going to do the walls as well. I have some other considerations about my walls like mounting points and the cover material (probably car cover material). My camper is only on a 5' truck bed, but I think a single Havelock box is over double what I...

That's also sounds like a good approach, I need to settle on a wall cover material. The middle pic above is the headliner detached, you can kind of see the thin foam backing. Here are some previous pics of the ceiling with the headliner. I really like the quality of the stitching and ease of...

    Wool Insulation?

That's why you wouldn't use a vapor barrier with wool (or Thinsulate). Any material won't dry out in the bottom of your pack, most packs act like a vapor barrier and aren't breathable, although wool will develop less to no mildew compared to the other options and prevent your pack from mildewing...

    Wool Insulation?

I just started adding Havlock to my OVRLND camper. You don't really "stuff" Havlock wool for the most part, it comes in these 2" thick batts that are not loose wool, kind of "blended", and are just laid into an area. See attached photo of a cut batt. You would only stuff it for really small...

I added Havlock wool to the ceiling under the OVRLND headliner. Super easy to undo/redo the headliner, I like the material OVRLND used, it's foam backed and provides both a bit of insulation and breathability. There are rivnuts at each end and velcro holding the sides of the liner. We added a...

I like the design, except the drawers for my own use cases, I feel the price is high compared to some comparable solutions. The drawers would be good for small items, but that's about it, I would prefer a top lid system with movable vertical dividers, both for inside access and the ability to...

We used our arctic pack for the first time last weekend, it went from 50F to 23F by morning and 30-38 mph gusts. With or without the extra lining, those soft walls don't budge, flap, or twitch in the wind. I feel the Gladiator rock a bit when the wind got more intense, but not the walls. We left...

The JTs ability to handle weight

Lol, and I wouldn't tow over 2000# with my LJR, much less towards the 3500.

    Best Overland Channels on YouTube

We regularly watch much of the ones posted here too. Dan's videos of his Australian trip are excellent! I also highly recommend subscribing to Venture4wd's Patreon for his camping spots, they were excellent for my last trip. Besides all the great channels mentioned here, my wife and I really...

The JTs ability to handle weight

Between my '17 Tacoma OR and my '22 JTR I replaced it with, I feel the Tacoma suspension wouldn't settle as much under load, but the Pentastar+8-speed of the JTR isn't nearly as affected power and MPG-wise by a few hundred pounds as the Taco was. Especially combined with the Rubicon gearing...

That's a great looking heater box. How are you running your propane to the Propex? Is your tank mounted on the outside somewhere on the OVRLND?

Yep! It's nice and looks easy to remove with bolts on the end, it should make it easy to stick insulation above it. Attached are some shots of it.

Yeah, I'm already impressed with how it feels on some of the trails, mud, and snow I went on for my return trip. Or rather how the camper doesn't feel, I didn't notice a performance difference with the extra weight and the Gladiator is already way more nimble and capable than the DCLB Tacoma it...

This is a great thread, lots of excellent build ideas. Thank you! I'm picking my Ovrlnd up in 2 weeks for our Gladiator Rubicon. I will 2nd what others have said, Jay & Maggie have been great and exceeded my expectations. They've answered my questions, given good advice, and even have steered...

How Would You Spec It? Ovrlnd Camper

I'm picking mine up in 2 weeks for my Gladiator, high level I did: Barn Doors + windows in both Hatch on both sides with a Tern window in each, we wanted the ability for gear access, light, view, but still have the built in bug screen, hard to break windows, etc of the tern. Full length Rhino...

    2020 Jeep gladiator rubicon

Accutune has a decent description of progressive vs linear vs digressive, especially look at the damping curve graph. I personally really liked having Icons (digressive) on a 3rd gen Tacoma, it cornered like a dream even with the extra weight of mods, etc. So far my Gladiator Rubicon with the...

Both the front and rear bumpers are JCR Offroad. The back can be set up to carry 2 Rotopax 2gallon containers (pictured) or other tools like your jack, etc. They've held up well over the 4-5 years I've had them, with yearly greasing the swing pivot and touch up paint for the rock kisses.
