I used a block heater on my 7.3. Defrost will work right away if the block heater is working.
To save power I used a timer set to come on 2 hours before I left for work.

As far as knots go I understood a "bend" to be weaker and the triple fisherman knot/loop was the strongest.
Once loaded you'll be lucky if a Dyneema knot comes apart without using a knife .

Crimps on the cable lugs could look better. Is the nut on the shut loose?
Cut a block of wood to drop in the box beside the batteries to stop them from sliding around. it will save wear and tear on the cable going through the alum

If you are worried about water leaks I wouldn't use grommets.
In some locations the marker/clearance lights have to be reflective.
