Me and the wife camp out of my 2 door all the time, you just have to minimize your set up and try to pack efficiently. A paid off Jeep is a beautiful thing, I'm getting close on my 2011 & plan to keep it till it drops.

45K on my 2011, overall very reliable. The build quality is great except for the cheap components they use on the front end. At around 40K started to get a lot of rattles over bumps and expansion joints and tracked the issue down to the pitman arm drag link end and the tierod ends. After...

I just did the same - moog'd both the drag link @ pitman end and drivers side tie rod end, what a difference. No more clangs and bangs from the front end over bumps and with fully grease-able units should be easy to keep them tight.

I really like my old man emu coils, I got the light load as my 2 door is rarely loaded up.

You'll be surprised at how well the limited slip performs, the only real issue is you may have to take the same line a little faster risking damage, than you would with a locked diff. Open, open with a limited slip in the rear will tackle most overlanding duties.

I have wheeled the snot out of my 2011 Sport with auto & never wished for anything more. Sure lockers and electric discos are nice but a winch & a bit of savvy will usually get you through. As others have stated it all really depends on the type of off roading you plan on. Good luck with a tuff...
