My Taco Phoenix Pop Up Camper

"Best" for what? Based on what? A broad, blanket statement such as this is either closed-minded ... or just simple-minded. The "best" camper is one that meets both the owner's particular needs AND the owner's particular vehicle. There is no single manufacturer that can meet this criteria in...

Thanks. Only pic I could find was this one for the skid plate over the Atlas. Off to the sides though you can see where the slider supports come over to the frame and are welded.

Anyone purchase a new unit lately?

'02 SuperDuty. Modified engine and transmission. Replaced transfer case, axles, suspension, bumpers, etc. I personally wouldn't put one on anythang less than a 3/4 ton ... but that's just my opinion. Mine is geared towards rougher terrain. For mild terrain, you mite go with a 1/2 ton but I...

best pop-up truck camper for offroad exploring

Great story of identifyin' your needs and then doin' the legwork to find exactly what fits 'em the best. That's the only path to take ... it just leads us in dif'rent directions. Good luck findin' the truck for it and enjoy!!

Anyone purchase a new unit lately?

That's like askin' if you should buy a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. FWIW, here's what I just went thru: Made a list of exactly what I wanted out of the camper. Then prioritized it. Then studied all the manufacturer websites, forums, u-tube videos, reviews, etc and seen which ones met my needs the...
