I just saw a beautiful Peugot passenger van parked at the local Legion hall. They use it to tour a Dutch musical act.

$6K for a replacement long block is a long way from a complete repower setup with all the equipment to make it run.

The only time I slept in a WM lot was when I flat towed a Sportsmobile back from Atlanta. And of course that involved pulling the driveshaft.

Snow temp helps traction as water content falls with temp.
A stuck van with all seasons at freezing may spin the tires, but waiting until temps fall a few degrees can lead to an easy drive out.

Sadly no one who has posted a supposed educated reply owns a Dodge based RV.
The reality is that van may have been well cared for and need very little work. The odds are low, but possible.
If you are willing to throw a few hundred at it to guarantee items like hoses and perhaps front strut...
