Yep the tow/haul button does change how the transmission works. In my '93 Chevy van I just shift to 2nd and watch the glowing tail lights ahead of me and smell the brake linings going away going over a pass.
Not a good idea. When I got my FG I was a bit disappointed at the 11MPG but I can tow my trailer loaded with motorcycles or flat tow my Jeep. 11 MPG winter or summer. I did want a V8 in it or a Cummins 4BT. I did the math. My father had Suburbans with a 454 motor and when he was towing their...
AC units can be wonderful. My neighbors Excursion would need to be recharged every year. The rear AC system leaked and Ford didn't want to fix it. They didn't want to pull the headliner out.
We talked to people and they all were like that.
My '94 Mitso Fuso, AC still works fine. My old Volvo164...
Sometimes speed limits in those areas are mere suggestions. My neighbor was crossing MT doing around 90MPH in his Excursion and saw a headlight in the mirror. A BMW bike passed him doing well over 130 MPH. We were out years ago and we were leaving Rock Springs WY and the speed limit was still...
Been in that area and did some of the ruins back in 1998.
Onto the subject of Chicken feet. A friends wife is allergic to something in the commercial products so he uses Chicken feet to make chicken broth for his cooking.
Some friends spent a few years In Africa back in the '60s. USAID. They never mentioned any problems with bribes and such. My neighbors were doing a day trip down the Baja and got stopped at a military checkpoint. Mike doesn't speak Spanish too well, he just pointed to his wife. She speaks...
Jerry. a dog bit for you. I wandered over to take a picture of my neighbors spare tire cover on his Jeep. Dogs are all happy at the gate so I had to go in to give them their scratches. Huh, 7 today? One could have been a twin to my first and favorite dog except that her right front leg hadn't...
Jerry, just keep a going on. I've spent many happy hours in my Jeep with my Black Lab. I've been run off of the road by logging trucks in my motorhome and I'm not sure how I got out of the ditch. I'm just surprised I didn't flop it. I had to dig grass out of the door and bumper. Keep living your...
Nice trip. I grew up in Arvada and spent many days in that area traveling with family in our old '62 Suburban with the wiener dog and my Black Lab. Is the Lewis Sweet shop still open in Empire? We always had to stop for a bag of salt water taffy.
I suppose this is all better than where I bought my Mitsu. I would pull into to the place I bought and the manager would be yelling over his shoulder that there is no warranty on it as he ran off into the shop. All I wanted was some new cabinet latches I couldn't find in my town.
Sorry to see that. I've talked to a few friends about stuff like this. Sometimes all the crap happens to hit at the same time. What started it? At least you and the dogs are safe. Soldier on.
When I bought my 1994 MF it had 2 water separators and I drained out about 4 table spoons of water out of the first one. I check them every time I crawl under to grease things. No problems since then.
You are going the right direction. I did all of the body work on my 3B and got it all pretty but I missed a dent in the hood. A Jeep needs to have a dent somewhere on it.
The video didn't go the entire way for me but I do agree about dog people. Some of my best memories are from the dogs we had around 55 years ago and a few since then. Open the truck door and the dog was charging off doing a dog adventure then return to camp to be fed and then invade your...
It looks like that may have gone in a worse direction and sounds like it came out well, or at least OK.
My neighbor lady speaks German, Spanish, French and of course English. She has helped many out on their travels. Any oriental language is not in her kit.
Nice looking dog. I was just over at my neighbors to share 1/2 of my doughnut with the Black Lab mix, Catahula mix and Husky. The other Lab mix missed out. She must have been at the other gate guarding us from the evil tree rats and rabbits.
