    Magellan Crossover US Topo?

Has anyone heard anything about if/when some <90m topo will become available? The preloaded 90m doesn't really have much to show around here, and I'd prefer not to have to buy another GPS that allows for greater detail...but I want more detail! Supposedly the Canada Topo is decent, and is at...

    Triple-purpose JK Build

Very nice setup! Looks like we're getting more folks from the eastern half of the continent...we'll have to see about getting a group together to explore some Ontario/Quebec/NL/Maritimes territory one of these days!

    Spring in Dah UP

Great work, as usual. The UP Tourism Department should pay you for all your photos and write-ups. Got 2 LP trips already lined up for May, but I gotta get back up to the UP this summer...

Seems to be the case anytime someone makes/sells stickers on here!

    Bush Buddy Stove

Looks pretty interesting, especially here in the forests of the midwest where there is no shortage of combustible materials to use as fuel.

    My new sleeping bag

That's hilarious. I'll have to get one to wear when I go visit my folks', since they keep their house so cold.

    Camping energy sources

As someone with relatively little camping experience compared to many on here, take my advice for what it's worth. My preference has always been the white gas/unleaded dual-fuel setup for cooking and lighting. For car camping, I think it works pretty well. The little Coleman dual-fuel single...

    Slumberjack Mummy Bags?

Anyone have any experiences, good or bad, with the Slumberjack mummy bags? I've been really pleased with their rectangular bags (Talon, 40*, long) and know others who have, too, but I haven't heard as much feedback about their mummy bags. I'm particularly interested in the Odyssey 10* as a...

    How narrow is too narrow?

Thanks for the input, all. Sometimes the easiest solution is sitting right there...and gets missed. Even though it requires an added step, I suspect it's worth it in the long run. Now to spend a bit of time with a pen and some graph paper... EDIT: Any suggestions on good spring choices? I...

    Post Pic's of your Jeep

Good post. These sentiments have been echoed by a number of folks when comparing ExPo to other Jeep-related sites. The stuff that interests many of us and the priorities that we have in outfitting a vehicle are decidedly different from the offroad park guys, as well they should be.

    Rocker Armor and Rust

Not directly on point, but I had a YJ with the body-mounted step thing that grew out of the full-body fender flares. It was a MI jeep, and the whole thing rotted out behind the flares and step. Definitely not something I'd do again. Frame mounted is definitely the way to go here in the land...

    Earth Anchor

I think that the loop on the TSC screw anchor is just bent over, not even welded to the shaft.

    How narrow is too narrow?

Before too long I'd like to finally set to work on building a camping trailer, since camping with a spouse and three dogs (granted 2 are pugs) is asking more of the interior space in my Jeep TJ than it can really provide. I've seen all the designs on the market, and if money and space were...

    Liberty info

My mother has an '05 that is getting traded in on a '08 as soon as they bother to build the new one. It has been a good vehicle, mechanically speaking. No problems that I'm aware of, apart from hers being a magnet for idiot drivers who like to sideswipe other cars. I drove it a bit and it was...

    TJ Toolkit

Does anyone have a link to a list of what tools the TJ needs for normal field repairs and which ones can be left at home? I'm sure some Jeep club or website has compiled such a list already, I just haven't found it. I'd like to reorganize/reequip the TJ so I have what I need and leave behind...

    Weekend fun in the U.P.

Nice pics and write-up, as usual!! Y'all UP folks should put together a list of places that should be seen, good places to pitch a tent away from the RV/campground crowd, and roads/trails/grades/paths that should be driven.

    Remington 700 stainless?

If this is a first rifle, I'd also get the .22. Of all the stuff I own, I get more pure enjoyment out of an afternoon with the .22 than with anything else I own. Even if you want to get the 700, get a .22 also. You can get a new Ruger 10-22 for about $175, or a used version or some sort of...

    roof rack or trailer?

As a fellow TJ owner, I'd vote for the trailer. I know for a fact that the cooler, three folding chairs, a sun shelter tent thingee, and a bag of charcoal for the grill over at the county park takes up pretty much all the free space in my Jeep. For anything more than a brief weekend of...
