    Are wheel spacers safe?

I see this being a 20 page thread, like most other threads that cover this subject, but here is my personal opinion anyway. I've run cheap spacers on my vehicles for years and have never had an issue. I see hundreds of Jeeps and Toyotas each year on the trails, many who run spacers. These same...

Why is my CB making noise when in reverse?!?!

The guy above me is correct. To put it simply, LEDs are powered by current and not voltage. They use an electronic "driver" to create this steady current. The driver creates noise in the electrical system. Unplug your LED reverse lights and I can almost guarantee that the problem will go away...

    2010 7.3 Excursion?

7.3 would have to be a 200-2003. 6.0 was in the later Excursions. Another note is that they both have newer style mirror upgrades, rear bumper, and side steps.

    2010 7.3 Excursion?

They are just older Excursions with a 2010 front end swap. You swap out the hood, fenders, grille, headlights, and front bumper. They have the original drivetrain, motor, and interior.

    Overlanding Checklist

I guess I'll take the opportunity to add a basic off-road list that I put together here as well. This is somewhat of a group-sourced list and has a lot of good suggestions. Although designed as a list for a day outing or simple weekend trip, it is a good base for some equipment to have in your...

    Comms Clarification Questions

CB radio refers to 11m. This is the most common means of communication between off-road groups, largely due to the low initial cost and the lack of any type of certification or testing needed. It is cheap and easy to run and works well for the shorter distances typically seen on a group trip...

10g Wire Big Enough for Fridge and Ham Radio?

Depends on the distance. A #14 wire will not carry 12v over 100ft. At the end you will lose a significant amount of voltage due to resistance. This will, in turn, increase the amperage pulled by the device or trigger a low voltage cutoff switch, if so equipped (and most 12v fridges are so...

10g Wire Big Enough for Fridge and Ham Radio?

Also, something I forgot to mention: You may want to run a dedicated wire for your HAM. The compressor could induce noise.

Should be fine. If it wasn't, she would have mentioned a big bang.

10g Wire Big Enough for Fridge and Ham Radio?

Depends on the run length but 10ga will likely be fine. The fridge will likely pull about 3 amps maximum, assuming you are running a standard Engel/ARB/Edgestar style 12v compressor style fridge. The radio should pull minimal power but it depends on your setup. This chart is pretty...

    Recomend an Android based tablet

Most free GPS tablet/phone apps require network connectivity for downloading maps on the fly. I am aware that there are some nav programs that don't require network connectivity. The GPS chip will be used for locating regardless of which setup you have, although some tablets use network...

    Warn 9.5ti motor rebuild

There isn't anything special about it. Use a press like a normal bearing with the bottom of the shaft supported, not the windings. You can also hammer it on, again supporting the shaft. I remember you being pretty mechanically inclined so I wont go into all the details about making sure it is...

    Warn 9.5ti motor rebuild

I don't feel there is any need to upgrade that bearing but a possible cheaper alternative might be found. Bench test it before installing it to make sure everything works as it should. It would be a shame to get it installed and have the same issue.
