Air/Hydraulic Bump Stops and Bent Axles

Strange, I've been running D25 axles in the front for over 47 years and never broken or bent anything. Perhaps some here need to learn how to drive off road. I have never broken anything off road.

Always fun to come here and watch people piss at each other and say nothing of note.

Death Valley with the Tacoma - Thanksgiving weekend 2015

We have done many Thanksgivings in Utah. Anywhere from 8" of snow to being out in the sun at 65 degrees with a beer. I suppose we need to come up with new methods of cooking a turkey as I believe we have tried most of them. I am still expected to bring several dishes of my special recipe...

Running with the Devil: Four Days on El Camino del Diablo

We were camped in southern AZ and there several messages posted about visitors that could appear at night. Rode the motorcycles to Mexico the next day and on the return trip we got stopped at the US border, anything to declare? Shut the bike off, kickstand down and removed my helmet to dig out...

Tips for Stealth Overnight Parking and Building a Stealth Vehicle

I can hit things with guns, but I choose the right ones to start with. Larrys wife had the gun as he felt she should have something in the house for defense when he was out of the house on farther job sites. To get half way back on topic, The CW (crazed woman) did send me an email yesterday to...

Tips for Stealth Overnight Parking and Building a Stealth Vehicle

I'm dealing with a woman right now that has latched on to a comment I made about how three women have accused me of saying things I never said, doing things I never did and one accused of thinking things that never crossed my mind. I suppose I have just been blesssed to come across four of them...

    Tour de Canada part deux

Actually, my name is John, The same as your friend. If I count up how much I have in my 2 and one half jeeps (Parts are out there for another) I am at less than $4,000. The 3B I bought in 1982.

    Tour de Canada part deux

i don't think I have many fans down in a few threads as I tell them they are idiots and there is absoutly no reason to throw $60.000 in a vehicle and then sell it in 3 or 4 years to start over. Both of my Jeeps work well and some may think they should be parked out behind a barn.

    Tour de Canada part deux

We seem to have some of the same tastes. If I wanted to dig around I might be able to find a few old pictures after a several hour long search involving a couple of buildings. Um, Burbs and **********, enjoy. I considered throwing in beer but I can't do much of that anymore due to the Diabetes.

Tips for Stealth Overnight Parking and Building a Stealth Vehicle

I don't think we will ever see Wanderer back. It seems like people on both sides were somewhat rude and not able to see the others point of view. Not to be sexist but I have known a few women like that.

One of the things I really miss about the '62 is that it was set up to carry 64 gallons of gas. Go camping for a weekend and not have to fill the thing for the rest of the month. I miss that motor as well. Dad had the '62, a '73. an '86 and the '93 burb. The last three all had a 454 in them...

    Rekkam Plateau Morocco

Growing up, we either went to the mountains to be surrounded by pine trees or we went out to the grasslands and you were sitting in the middle of the prarie. As I got older, I can appreciate both of them. I go out to the Moab area and can climb to the top of a hill with a book and a beer and...

    Tour de Canada part deux

The emblem on the side sort of tells you the year. I traveled with my parents for about 12 years in a '62 Suburban. It started out as a 283 and ended up with a bored Corvette 327. (Actully it was a 332 when I got done with it) All of the correct Corvette parts in and on the motor. I think...

    Tour de Canada part deux

A finer point, I would get a cigar out and smoke it on the front porch, except it's only about 20 degrees F out there and there isn't any fair young ladys in sight and they would be dressed in a proper manner for the conditions.

    ICELAND, land of contrasts

Nice. Several friends have been there. All of them Geologists. They said it was very scenic and being rockheads, they had stomp around on the hills and examine every rock in the area.

What to do after an accident in Baja (it depends...)

Several years ago some friends were traveling Baja in two rented motorhomes. They were driving at night. (Yeah, I know.) One got forced off of the road and crashed. They managed to get ahold of the embassy who told them to get the H*ll out of there and get back to the US. Let the rental company...

Tips for Stealth Overnight Parking and Building a Stealth Vehicle

I tried to get it back on track. Just because we are entitled to an opinion doesn't mean you should share it.Especially if it totally off topic and insulting to the OP. As my mother told me "Fools names and fools faces are oft seen in public places."

Tips for Stealth Overnight Parking and Building a Stealth Vehicle

"Dude" you are not helping anything with your last comment. He has a life he want's to do. I know several millionaires. Some chose to flaunt their wealth, some chose to drive their old '86 Toyota 4X4 PUs until they die. It is their life, let them do as they like.
