I haven't been able to find a good snow/ice tire. Tread pattern for ice used more rubber to increase the contact. Once the snow is over 4" the ice tires plug up. Was happy with the KO2. I killed them after 2 years of towing a trailer so I may try the Wildpeak (more $$ here) AT3 that have more...
A line week from abrasion (sand, friction& iron oxide) will keep breaking unless the week secion is removed. We'd tie knots but this screwed up the spooling on the drum.
After learning (1st ones lasted less than a month) how fast abrasions kills synthetic we (those of us who cared) did treat...
A converter/ power supply can't be programmed to suit the charging specs nor does it have a battery temp sensor.
Commonly used Trojan T105 require 14.82V @77F this would need to be higher as temp drop. The converters I know of (WFCO PD and IOTA) will out a max of 14.4V.
Keeping the syn line coverd or removing it from the drum when not in use to prevent dirt/sand from entering it will help as well.
I see people wrap their recover straps/ropes around the bumper and I wonder if they are know what dirt/sand will do to the line.
It will weld to syn rope.
My first choice for a syn rope fair lead or rollers is stainless steel, second is aluminum. ***Edit. . . . rollers with delrin bearings
Rollers are 10x better than a fair lead.
Any type of abrasion ruins syn rope.
Allowing syn to cross wrap on the drum is as bad...
I like to refer to the WFCO (does not bulk charge), Progressive Dynamics & IOTA units as "power supplies" . The primary purpose is to provide DC power (with our without a battery) in a range that is acceptable to the appliances. These unit do not have a battery temp sensor so the voltage...
As much as I love getting away from it all it is getting harder and harder to do. After shortening then canceling another "out of communication" trip last week I've decided getting away is more important than being out of communication.
Our InReach doesn't have enough data and cell...
Mfg of our trailer put the vent 12" away from the Fantastic Fan (which is left open for cooling in the summer and condensation in winter) so that when the wind blow in the right direction......
The brackets could be made with saddles to allow 2 rivets/screws on each side but that would increase the cost allot
Cutting breaks the powder coat finish and allows corrosion to start.
Drilling and tapping would need material that is a min of 3/16 (5mm) and stainless is a PINA to drill/tap...
