Funny this comes up... I have a Salsa disc cyclocross bike and was never happy with the discs, in fact I was looking at mini-Vs. I had Paul Retro's on my old CX bike and wasn't happy with them in wet races either. After my first race this year, I decided to try a flat bar. Wow.... same wheels...
I also just picked up a cheap propane adapter and tested it.... works great (but I could tell it had less heat... BTUs) So I now have two old stoves ready to rock and roll!
Willman, I agree this is interesting. I paid $19,900 in 2005 for my 02 with 42k. It was a lease return, super clean and I was happy. And I agree, it has proven to be the best rig purchase so far.
You can also check with the PS DMV, NY used to issue a 30 day tag for an out of state purchase. I gave them a VIN #, flew to SC and drove my FJ40 back to NY....
You must be great at negotiating... last 2013 LC on the lot I saw was north of $90k! Congrats, I have read great things on the latest LCs! 15 years or so I hope to have one.
That price seems high and and the truck is "overly clean" - the Toyota tax must be high in the PNW! Was the timing belt done? I didn't see the sticker, and at that price make sure it is included! (include water pump, idler pulley, etc) I think you should do a national search and see if trading...
Rebuild your old stove. I bet all the parts except the grill (don't know why) are still available. I rebuilt my grandfather's 1960s 425, after my brother took it to the beach and left sand/salt on/in it in the garage. Sanded the case and painted with BBQ paint, clean and painted the manifold...
Adam, if you have not done the family trip yet here is what I did. I created a cardboard boot between the cab and cap, that kept ambient air out and allowed just AC air in, then I used the silver reflective stuff and covered both side windows to reduce solar gain... it worked in August from NY...
Wheels look great. Makes me wish I had not sold mine..... I also wish you made a second set of sliders for me.... I can not find bolt on sliders for our trucks.
The only other option I know of is a Wilderness. It would be used.... I have a Flippac and had the same concerns and went ahead and bought a used one... the cost was similar to a brand new shell...
My 02 D&C 4x4 got no better than 19 stock and now 16.8 with lift etc. 13 or less towing. I am not easy on the gas pedal but gave seen the same numbers from other Tundra owners. I love my Taco, still glad I own it, just letting you know.
