Is a Land Cruiser right for me?

HG, front axle service (then good for 15 more years), sun roof leaks, EGR (CEL and p401?) a couple of seals on a 20 year truck (oil pump, dist O ring) and the PS pump seem to be the most common possible issues. Like has been stated, baseline fluids, fix major leaks and then see. Mine had 167,000...

    Honda Element right for me?

I think they are cool cars for what you describe. Just read about the lowest spot (gas tank?) and make sure it will clear what you need it to. Going solo and only gravel roads, I think it would be great.

Artistic Shots- Well thought out, framed (positioned), artistic shots only please.

Tobacco Barns in NC The barns around Cameron, NC, were painted back in 1999 by a group called the The Barnstormers lead by New York artist David Ellis. Sadly they are fading and falling apart. All I had was my D7000 and a 20mm lens, I will revisit them again!

Hello All. My first post. Here is my simple custom GMC Cube Van conversion.

I was thinking about your van last night. Did you rig the rear door to lock from the inside. I was thinking of a second emergency exit if you needed it. If you are boondocking in Walmart, your roll door is closed and you have an engine fire. Can you escape out the rear? If so I assume you lock...

Is a Land Cruiser right for me?

I wouldn't have either. My measurement wasn't dead center, just the tallest part I could reach from rear. But it did spur me to remove the bedding and put the seats back in!

Is a Land Cruiser right for me?

I never measured, in fact I gave up ever carrying my bike inside with the seat post unless I got a van.... I just tried it in the LC and was surprised. I do remember at 6 feet tall when I sat on the bedding I was not happy in the 4Runner.... but we quit sleeping in the 4Runner because of the...

Is a Land Cruiser right for me?

One other thought on the 80 vs 4Runner. I had a 98 4Runner (great service and traveling truck) but when if you plan to sleep in it, I could not sit up inside. I love drawer set-ups, etc. But I want to be able to sit up in bed and read, look at maps, etc at night or on rainy days. I have never...

Is a Land Cruiser right for me?

Real world LC MPG seem to be lower than your Jeep. My '93 gets 14mpg all the time in mixed driving, that is completely stock and running well. My 02 Taco, lifted, bumpers, etc gets 16mpg mixed. The LC is MUCH more comfortable, so much so that my wife has said it's the travel vehicle now. I did...

    Is this a good deal?

Bump for you.... I am not an expert but I think the round fenders and tailgate mean it was a civilian model. (I could be very wrong) but the price seems good (maybe very good) for that condition from what I have seen on the east coast. hth

Your Choice: 2012 Overland SUV of the Year?

I voted for the TE 4Runner. The $80k LC 200 is too much money for most folks to really use (I understand that) but at least they are sold and come up used for the rest of us in 10 years!
