Thanks for your input!
I have put a lot of thought in to it and we have done enough camping/traveling to know what we want.
I plan on welding a steel frame for mine so have designed it in CAD and have been doing some FEA simulations on it to see about cutting weight where I can.

Good explanation. That is how it was explained to me a while back by a very smart welder. He said you don't want to weld across the trailer, you want to weld along the length of the trailer.
Fumoto oil drain valve makes changes much easier. I've got large hands and arms and don't have an issue with getting the filter on or off. Could it be a better design? Yes.
I thought I had a turbo whine a while back, turns out a stud broke on the manifold and there was a leak that was...
@dbhost thanks for your input! I’ve considered a used one and remodeling, but all the ones I have come across are too long for what I want- I have a 6.5’ bed and don’t want to have to leave the tailgate down with a camper on.
As far as insulating canvas, I plan on drawing something up and...

As with what everyone else is saying, you'll want to use UHMW for sliding applications. McMaster-Carr has a good selection of it.
Also, I have a buddy that build some slides and simply used wood with wax and they slid just fine.
In the process of planning a pop up truck camper similar to FWC and others. I'm on the fence about a few things and figured I would see what the people here think.
If you have previously built a camper, particularly a pop up for a truck:
What would you do differently this time around?
What...
I gave up on frying pans and use a Blackstone griddle now for everything - breakfast lunch and dinner are all awesome on it. I do still take a dutch oven with me though. Was planning on one of the Partner Steel griddles but came across a great deal on the blackstone and haven't looked back...
I don't really see an issue with those SAE to USB devices you linked, but I feel like @dreadlocks hit it on the head. A large USB battery bank is maybe $35, and is functional while you aren't in the tent and are sitting out by the camp fire or whatever else you may be doing.
I think the 7.3 will be a winner. That Tremor package is basically everything I would want in a truck, right off the lot. I don't do anything too serious offroad.
