I think what Ford should do is bring the FX4 back as its own trim level, but have it leveled on 33s from the factory. I love my FX4 but the Pirellis and lower ground clearance were two things that needed remedied right away.
I didn't know that. I was just starting to look at them and was hoping I could just unload it at camp and have the truck without camper to run around in.
I really like the idea of a F250 Tremor with the 7.3L and an FWC on the back. If I had the cash, I would love to set one up with a flatbed Hawk to leave as a dedicated camping setup and then have a separate truck for doing the rest of the truck stuff.
I think a lot of people get them out of wrecked Tesla’s. Lots of people build their own with 18650s though, that’s what makes up a Tesla pack.

Growing up my family had a pop up truck camper that we used in the back of my dads '96 F350 with 8 foot bed. All 3 kids slept up top with plenty of room and the parents slept on the dinette that converted to a bed. Wasn't a ton of roof to stand around and do stuff, but as far as camping in it...
I'd love to see more pictures. How's camping in it with a family? I would love to get one of these but am unsure about the space. I'd have to have AC too, camping in Nebraska most of the time.
I have a '13 EcoBoost with 6.5' bed as well.
I doubt it would take much to make it offroad worthy. In all reality, if it wasn't up to the task and you got it for cheap you tear it town, beef up the frame, and rebuild it reusing some original parts.
That really isn't too bad considering the quality you seem to be building with! If I can, I like to build/make my own stuff. I have a cheap camper that I am currently using so I won't have to miss out on camping while I build something, just can't decide what I want to build!
Impressive build! I'm torn between building a pop up for my truck or a camper trailer. This inspires me to try my hand at one of these, since I've build a teardrop before. Any idea what your at as far as cost goes?
I have an RPod that I picked up for $2k a year ago. Needed a little work but its in pretty good shape now. I think they're overpriced unless you get a deal on one. I'm debating gutting mine now and rebuilding it how I want it or just building a trailer from scratch.
