Believe me, if you read my hot dog thread I feel your pain. DIY is cheaper but not emotionally...
I'd just give it some time to work everything out and yes definitely take it for an alignment.
Sorry to hear about your wobbling issues but with MGs kit there shouldnt be any wobbling unless something is worn and needs to be replaced. I went through everything when my van was giving me issues ans it turned out to be the hubs, even though the "grab it and see if it moves" test passed. I...
When you buckle the seat in just pull it all the way out so it stays locked when it's buckled. That's what I would do as then it's acting as it would when in a crash just all the time.
It also depends on the conversion van. Things aren't always easy ha ha.
My van is a conversion van 2010 Ford E150. Because it started it's life as a cargo van and not a passenger van it actually has the E250 frame. Check with the ford body builders specifications online (just Google that)...
I had vibration issues with my last van and the only thing I didn't swap was the hubs. As soon as I swapped them out all of my problems went away and it felt super solid. If I were you I would just go for the two for 450 and feel good knowing that's done. Especially since this axle came from...
Oh totally makes sense, I was trying to figure out what was going on. Sorry I wasn't able to locate those photos yet. Doesn't look like it matters anyway.
Just my opinion, I wouldn't trim MGs bracket. That bracket along with the track bar is the only thing holding your axle in place. If for whatever reason it breaks, you won't be going anywhere and hopefully your not going very fast if it does.
When MG and I were playing around one day we...
It's really just about an inch up from the bottom of the crossmember. Draw a line straight across and then that's where you would cut. No need to go around the whole crossmember, just the lowest point. I'm trying to get the photo to you but I need to find it.
Here is how I cut them. Put the track bar mount on for a test fit. Draw a line along the bottom edge of the bracket on the crossmember and that's where you need to cut there. Then I just loosen the brake line and push it up as far as I can without bending it or distorting it more than I need...
Congrats on a sweet van! I love the story and as soon as I saw the "Satisfaction Guaranteed" I knew this was going to be good. Your photos are amazing, you obviously aren't using your smartphone.
Those wheels, while cheap and good looking (I liked them) do require some grinding off of extra...
