    Roof Rack Time

If you want to know even more, Google "NWP Rover Racks". It seems Voyager Racks has had 3 name changes in the past 6 or so years. They were first known as NWP (North West Products) and had a bad reputation for shoddy welds and powder coating. Then they moved to Florida and for a fresh...

    Hiking boots?

Regarding Merrell and failures, I'd agree! Avoid them! I bought a pair of Merrell backpacking boots in 2001 which failed 6 years later in 2007. The heel separated from the sole. Luckily it was only a day trip. I hardly used the boots, mainly used then 2 or 3 times a year from 2001 to 2003.

    Monty died, won't start.

Well if you're not getting a spark, I'd check the ignition coil and go down that path. It's premature to suspect the timing belt let alone replace it and all the spark plugs.

    Monty died, won't start.

It could be something else. Based on the symptoms, not sure what leads you think think it's fuel-related. Why don't you pull a spark plug wire and crank the engine to see if you're get a spark. If you don't, it could be your ignition coil. But if you do get a spark, remove the spark plug...

Camping Gear for the Casual Family Campers

Yep, the silicone bowls are sturdy and suitable for hot liquids. The base and rim is hard plastic base which makes it sturdy plus the handles on the rim makes it comfortable to hold with hot liquids. Also the silicone section is thick and won't easily collapse. As a point of reference, REI...

Camping Gear for the Casual Family Campers

Besides easy to use and compact, I'd also add inexpensive as an attribute for casual first-timers. So along those line here are some items I think meets those requirements: 1. Collapsible silicone bowls, $1.50/each at Daiso...

Questions about "Urban Offroad" and some wheels

Hi Mike, I met Derek Chase 5 years ago when his shop was in Chatsworth. He was a friend of a LR-friend who recommended I check out his work since I was interested in D2 bumpers, rock sliders and body armor. Derek spent a fair amount of time showing me his custom work and discussed ideas he had...

    80 vs 100?

Just wondering, were they KM or KM2's? I ask because the original KM were noisy but the KM2's are supposed to be quieter and smoother. I've had both and the KM2's definitely are smoother on the road than the KM's. It's hard for me to tell if they're quieter because my Disco itself is noisy, a...

Take the gamble or run? Disco shopping ITT

Regarding rebuilding a D2 driveshaft, seems like a lot of bogus info on here. First, it shouldn't cost $400. I had one of my D2 front drive shaft rebuilt a few months ago for ~$163. That price included $127.63 for removing, re-installing and balancing the drive shaft. I supplied three (3)...

Rover guys..found a lift if your in need

Thanks. One way to tell the year is that '03 and '04 have projector-style headlights whereas 99-'02 have one big square glass headlight. And the '03/'04's rear upper turn signal lens are red and amber. The '99-'02 have no amber.

Windshield. Battery cover + grommet. And it it's a '99-'02 D2 then I'm interested in: Passenger side fog light. Front amber turn signal lamps. Rear upper turn signal lamps. And if it's a metallic Red D2, then I'm interested in: Driver's side front and rear door. Passenger...
