Pics of mobile HF antenna installs

Bob, the antenna is mounted at the base of that mount, and only supported around the mast with delrin: There is no steel wrapped around the antenna. FWIW I asked Scorpion Ron about the mount, he said it looked great and to make sure to not paint the backs of the bolt holes so it would bond...

Pics of mobile HF antenna installs

This is a mount my friend jason @ Cruisin' Off Road built for my BJ74. It bolted to the factory holes for the stock spare tire carrier and held a Scorpion screwdriver. I've since added an HDJ81 which will be the long haul wheeler, so will have to try to adapt the mount to the bumper-mount...

What do you carry in your M416/ trailers?

Mine's been a track bike hauler this year. It's far from ideal, but it did the job. I'm buying a dedicated trailer for the bike, so I can get back to building the 101 as a camp trailer.

PICTURE THREAD: Post up your Mobile HAM setups

I have the dual band Larson NMO 2/70 with a spring, it's taken a serious beating and never been a problem… except for that one and only time I ran the truck through a car wash. That didn't end well. The radio is just a Yaesu FT8800 bolted to the centre console. I've been "planning" the HF...

    My CND M101 Thread

FWIW, my steel lid weighs in around 90 lbs. A couple of my friends have aluminum lids and IIRC they come in around 60 lbs. Substantial, but wasn't a deal breaker for me.

Strutwise? http://www.strutwise.com Several of our local guys are running his custom struts on their 101s w/ lids and RTTs. They work great... not cheap though. I need to get my trailer out to him for a set soon.

    NEW M101CDN BUILD

I really like having a tailgate. Mine was cut leaving the top bar intact for structural rigidity.
