What width are most of you running? 12.5 or 13?
curious what tire will roll best but still hold up off road. I have the older 3.3 motor so thinking I should stick to 35s for power sake but man mine is geared soooo low. I hit 2700 rpm at around 55. I am wondering if some years are geared lower or...
That seems like an interesting idea. Then you could use what ever alternator you wanted and not have to worry about sourcing it from the dealer. Mine at lowest idle always says low vacuum so I am guessing I will need to do this soon.
Hey guys so I got my truck and am building out the camper. Trail worthy can now make a set of reversible rims that fit front and back. They are making me a set of 17s. Now I just have to figure out what tire I want to run.
If your interested give them a call

Well I got it!
Thanks for all the advice ! I am sure I will need more. Benttofly I am looking into adding a second alternator but we will see how this one works. Will be posting out remodel. Currently we are stripping the camper down and redoing everything. Also thinking of order the super...
Yeah all of what you guys say makes a ton of sense. Just seems weird that no one makes a small portable one. Plenty of small Diesel engines to be had.
I would do the alternator but I don’t want to leave the vehicle running while I am away from it. I want to be able to leave my pets when it’s...
Anybody have any recommendations? Would prefer just to run one fuel source. Do they make small diesel generators? Only found one that seemed portable enough.
That’s what I was thinking after I wrote that lol. It could be play in the steering box though? I found that if there is play it’s impossible to get it to track straight.
Yeah 35s would be ideal but I can get the humvee 37s takeoffs for dirt cheap. Probably start there and just switch to a interco 35 if it’s way to slow. I don’t mind shifting down to 4th. Or is that just a bad idea in these trucks? I kinda look at 5th as an overdrive gear for the flat?
Any idea of resources out there about these. He has all the service manuels thankfully, so I won’t be completely in the dark. Is there quite a bit of part interchangeability between the non 4x4 ones and the FGs. Pretty easy to find the 2wd versions here.
yeah that makes sense so it’s what we call a granny gear.
Are parts for these older ones still available in Oz? It’s pretty hard to find them in the US, although the Mitsubishi rep said he could get most basic parts. If I knew I could get them down there I could have my cousins ship them to me...
The reason I want to go with 37s is because I can get Humvee wheels re-centered for my 5 lug. I want to go this way so that I can always get another wheel made as not many are supplying the five lugs anymore. They are also going to cost less than 3000 for 5 tires 90% worn and 5 re- centered...
Hey guys a few questions for ya. I apparently posted this in the wrong section. Anyway I have a chance to buy a pretty clean looking 90 Fuso FG with 45k miles on it for 18k. 1 owner. It’s a left hand drive, has no rust and already has a box set up for a camper build. It has a 3.5 4 cylinder...
Yeah I guess that is not gonna hurt the ride much more than it already does. Do these need a diff drop? Really would prefer to just slap on the 37s but if I have to lift it 3 inches it’s not the end of the world. Does this look lifted already at all?
Hey guys I am in the process of purchasing a 1990s fuso fg. It needs all new tires and I don’t want to buy a set that I will just replace right away. Really want the higher gearing for long distance travel so the 37s sound great. My problem is my budget I can’t afford the lift and the tires. Can...
There is some surface rust but not much it’s very dry out here. I didn’t check the blow by but I will it’s going to my diesel mech before I purchase it.
How would I check the turbo just?
I guess I am more concerned if something like the injector pump fails where do I get a new one or rebuilt?
