That's a big enough offset that it would bother me too, better safe than sorry even if its not as big a unit

    265/75 vs 235/85

The 235 won't be longer, as it's the same height as the 265 but stioc is correct t, in practice its likely not a huge factor (~%13), it isn't trivial either An extreme example is a pickup with a snow plow, have you ever seen a dually with a plow? Not a professional. You have way more contact...

    265/75 vs 235/85

I meant pressure from the vehicle. The contact patch is not the same, the 265 tire is over an inch wider, despite having the same length as the 235. This means the same truck at the same tire pressure will have a higher contact pressure with the 235s. (Same mass less surface area = higher psi...

    Mortonm's 2001 Xterra Build

I oil sprayed my truck today for the winter. I also replaced a really bad rust spot on my rocker. I didn't take before pictures but it was rusted right through and was the size of a baseball. Credit to my father in law for the body work! Cut the rot out, welded in a new section, then...

    265/75 vs 235/85

I've had 235/85 on my '01 Xterra for three years and have never regretted then for a second in nearly 50,000 miles. I love the look although subjective. Unless your constantly dealing with deep sand/mud/snow the 235/85 will provide better traction otherwise. Same weight, smaller contact patch...

Danner Mountain Light II - An on-going review

Another nice Hike today, didn't really need the gaiters as it wasn't as muddy as I was expecting but it kept my pants clean. The Great Thinker

    The best adventure travel boots.

Today was a Goretex day. I know a lot don't like it, especially during hot weather but for me I love it between fall and spring. Perfectly dry feet

Danner Mountain Light II - An on-going review

First Snowy hike of the season, was really happy to have the goretex today. Wet snow and slush for over two hours and not a drop of water on my socks A lot of coyote and deer tracks out there Perfect weather for wool. Home made wool toque (mom) and half a Woolrich Pennsylvania tuxedo.

    Mortonm's 2001 Xterra Build

I am not sure but I think these have been around for quite awhile (longer than the duratracs) you just dont see them very often. It seems like most people if they need a BFG traction tire just go to the BFG AT
